Posted 6 months ago Does anyone else think it is neccessary to receive a bachelors degree to just be a Police Officer? I have an A.A.S degree in Criminal Justice and I am confused on the amount of education I should get when the job is more of a hands on career. |

| Posted 6 months ago It certainly helps, but its not entirely necessary. Most departments don't require a bachelor's degree and the ones that do are few and far between. | Posted 6 months ago With your AA Degree start making application. When interviewed inform personnel you are going to pursue a BS/BA Degree and then do it. The academy will give you some college credit hours. The ball is in your court. |
