Posted 6 months ago Does anyone else think it is neccessary to receive a bachelors degree to just be a Police Officer? I have an A.A.S degree in Criminal Justice and I am confused on the amount of education I should get when the job is more of a hands on career. |

| Posted 6 months ago It certainly helps, but its not entirely necessary. Most departments don't require a bachelor's degree and the ones that do are few and far between. I have an associates degree and it has helped me out a lot. Be patient and keep trying. "Niether fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds." Buddha |

| Posted 6 months ago Like rypete says, ya gotta be patient. The hiring process can be long, tedious, disappointing and nerve racking. But in the long run, it is well worth it. Be patient and don't give up trying!! |

| Posted 6 months ago With your AA Degree start making application. When interviewed inform personnel you are going to pursue a BS/BA Degree and then do it. The academy will give you some college credit hours. The ball is in your court. |
