Posted 6 months ago What steps can I take to get off the blackballed list from POST in Georgia, I've been denied three times ref to my certification being reinstated? I love law enforcement and alot of high ranking officials and several Chief's I've spoken with have informed that the punishment is excessive. I severed my country proudly for over twenty-one years retired as a First Sergeant and attended many leadership courses in the military as well as in the law enforcement field and it hurts me to the core about my treatment. |

| Posted 6 months ago Have to agree with folks here, not enough info. And, as some others have stated, I'm not familiar with Ga POST. Out of curiosity, why was your certification revoked? How long did you serve Law Enforcement? I can only assume since you retired as a First Sergeant, you meant to say you SERVED our country proudly for over 21 years (as opposed to "severed"). That being the case, Thank You for Your Service to Our Country!! |

| Posted 6 months ago Georgia POST does not simply revoke one's POST certification "Willy Nilly". There needs to be substantial misconduct. They have to perform an in-depth investigation, and then revoke only if certain criteria are met. Essentially it's like when a lawyer is Dis-Barred. In a world where there are Sheep and Wolves,
I am NOT a hero

There you have it.

If you loved it why would you compromise your ethics, morals, character, reputation, your departments reputation in the community? Several Chiefs have told you.................. , yet none have hired you? It hurts you to the core about your treatment! We don't know what you did since you deliberately left that part out, but you comitted the offense. Suffering the punishment is your burden to bear. You chose to follow a course of action. No one else.

| Posted 6 months ago I'd say leave the thread for about one more day. In my state, to get POST revoked, a LEO normally has to commit the equivalent of a felony (or commit a felony) to be revoked, simple misdemeanors typically won't get one revoked. |

This would explain a lot, if its the same person. HOWEVER, if it's the same person; he sure as he!! didn't do 21 years in the Military (unless he enlisted at age 13). Methinks the OP needs to enlighten us a little..... just sayin. |

I believe this one is from Connecticut. I found one by googling Georgia Police Officer with the OPs' last name and was able to come up with an appeal to a conviction of a Gwinett County Deputy. Either way if the OP is either one of these individuals, it does make one wonder. |

Yup, you're right. Judging by the area code on an ad at the top of the news page, it is Conneticut. |

| Posted 6 months ago I have reason to believe (sorry, I'm not elaborating) that the OP's profile name is unrelated to his real name. The results from the Google searches on Stinson will not yield any relevant information. I doubt the OP will be back, but 2 days may not be enough time to be certain.
