My question is simple.  A job posting was posted recently that was edited to include "gender may be considered to maintain security purposes." Sound okay at first due to strip searches, right? (maybe not to some) BUT, we currently only have 1 female that works, first shift ONLY. My question is, if your only female (that works with the male inmates) is a first shift only position, how can you include gender in THIS posting? Hiring a female (to work all shifts) wouldn't "hurt" your security. You have all of the other men to do the strips. Women can pat down. Is this discrimination clearly written in a posting? in 2012?! Thanks.
