| Posted 7 months ago Suzanne as MZ said, we have the Hurricane coming from one direction and a Noreaster coming from another, which is what is making it so bad., at least they are no longer saying Rochester could get snow. Thats as MZ said as well, ethy are calling for several feet of snow in W Va. I just saw on the news they are still saying waves on Ontario Lake coming into shore could be 22 feet. I am hoping that the people there are evacuating as they always flood and with waves alot smaller.... |

| Posted 7 months ago Even those not in the direct path of the storm (or even anywhere near the coast) may want to review their disaster preparedness plans: http://goo.gl/JQzRZ <- 33-foot waves could roil Lake Michigan as Hurricane Sandy's winds roar Bessie Braddock: “Sir, you are drunk.” Churchill: “Madam, you are ugly. | Posted 7 months ago Willimantic CT here. WInds are picking up, but not so bad. Lights have been flickering so we expect them to go off soon. I feel bad for NJ and CT coastal residents (and anyone else affected of course), my situation is certainly less severe. Stay safe everyone |

| Posted 7 months ago The predicted 60+ mph wind gusts and massive flooding never made it to Central NY. The coast is another story, though. Storm surge has put subway and utility tunnels under water. Apparently a lot of the energy from Sandy was transferred to the gigantic winter storm which is still wreaking havoc in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, Western Maryland and other areas. | Posted 7 months ago FYI--apparently there are a lot of fake Hurricane Sandy photos that are being circulated. Be aware of that before you try to pass off one as the truth. | Posted 7 months ago Great news, GLady!! Lost sleep last night after looking at the satellite maps. Hurricane Sandy killed people days before it hit our shores to kill more. I live near the sea and know shore conditions of all kinds. What I saw of conditions along our east coast disturbed me. Monstrous. Prayers up for you all coping with this nasty storm. Love to hear from Nick. |

| Posted 7 months ago Havin lived through SEVERAL hurricanes in my lifetime (including Betsy, Camille and Katrina) what I'm seeing on TV is CRAZY bad ! The big thing that has me worried is the cold. Ya'll PLEASE take precaution, check on your neighbors even if you don't know them. Stay warm and keep in touch ! Remember the electric companies are bring in reinforcements but the damamge is so very wide spread and the population is so dense that a lot of you will need to take care of yourselfs !
