| Posted 7 months ago 11.07.2012 Updating......... NENJ: The snow storm has started in my area, which may suspend some repairs for the moment. News media claims there's a Nor' easter on it's way, and some in NJ/NYC are still either w/o power, some w/o a home, some have to (re) evacutate as a precaution. Displaced residents are asking for simple things from neighbors, clean up crews, volunteers and Emergency Responders. It's important to them to be reunited with any family photo's recovered during the clean up process. This will mean a lot to them, I know this b/c I've been there, twice!. The ACC's in New York and Jersey animal shelters are filled to the hilt with displace cats and dogs, I can betcha my last dollar most are at double capacity if not triple. Since shelters already run on tight budgets, you can just imagine their need for supplies. A staten Islander whom lost his home was at the NYG's game and another patron paid for his whole meal. At any rate, many of the Sports Venues collected monetary donations and food. The word is Metlife in East Rutherford NJ alone collected about $58,000 in Monetary donations/food. Since this is an off week for me, I'll have time to help out with links to help or resources, clean up, updates ect, especially in Bergen Co. Staying optimistic for my NJ and NY brethren affected by Hurricane Sandy, and credits due to all the people responding to this emergency.

| Posted 7 months ago Ditto, LonnaNJ. You hit the nail on the head. It's all about the photos. Did you see that video on the massive photo recovery project in Japan after the tsumani hit? Phenomenal organization and effort. |

| Posted 7 months ago Apologies for not keeping the updates flowing. In NW Jersey we were lucky and only had a "glancing" blow from the Nor'Easter. This week has been exceptionally full. I've worked multiple sixteen hour days and my wife (God Bless Her) has organized a clothing drive for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. She managed to secure an office as a reception center where she's been collecting bags upon bags of clothes, sorting them into boxes, labelling them and stacking them. A mover in the office center has volunteered a truck to ship the boxes. Tomorrow we deliver the first truckload to the devastated area (through the local PD). She will be doing this collection until Sunday the 18th. I'm very proud of her. She tells me she's doing this because "I had to do something". She's running herself ragged and I'm doing everything I can to help her.

| Posted 7 months ago We're headed to Galloway, New Jersey tomorrow, in partnership with a local church in that area. We'll be "armed" with canned goods, shovels, push brooms and trashbags, to do what we can to help them clear up and rebuild. |

| Posted 7 months ago Nick, kudos and high fives to your wife. Please let her know that all of us here on PoliceLink appreciate her passion, commitment and volunteerism. Sounds like you both will need a vacation. May I suggest Newport Beach, CA? Or maybe being at the beach doesn't sound so good right now. Scratch that....

That was very generous, but imo, the Supervisor on that level should have just comp'd the poor guy. Eyeroll*, Do unto others.........
