Does anyone know how long it takes to find out if you have been hired once you get the letter saying your name has been fowarded to the hiring manager?

YOU MAY NEVER HERE ANYTHING. ONCE OPM FORWARDS ALL THE NAMES AND SCORES TO THE HIRING OFFICIALS DECIDE WHO THEY ARE GONNA CONTACT TO GO FORWARD IN THE PROCESS.

IF I WAS YOU I WOULD TRY TO CONTACT THE DEPARTMENT. GET YOUR NAME IN THEIR HEADS.

WHAT BASE DID YOU APPLY FOR IF YOU DONT MIND ME ASKING??/

OPM is the biggest headache I've ever dealt with... I was DA at White Sands Missile Range; I didn't hear anything for a year. It's because OPM gathers all the resumes, scores them, forwards them to the department... then the department has to take their pick and send everything back to OPM... it's a L-O-N-G process. Like TreeHugger said, try to get in touch with the department and get them thinking about you. Good luck and keep us posted.
