| Posted 7 months ago Stay in school and get the degree, assuming you are in college. If not slow down and finish what you started, but you can start looking at the agency of your choice, ask questions and get involved in ride alongs, internships through your school and physically prepare yourself for the job. Maybe the agency has a Reserve Program, Cadet or Explorer post? Volunteer as a citizen if your time permits and that will put a face with your name that the agency can remember when it gets ready to hire. If positions become available then make application. Good luck... |

| Posted 7 months ago Something else you can work on is spelling and grammar. A major part of law enforcement is report writing. Many people will read your reports and make judgements about you. Supervisors, fellow officers, District Attorneys, Judges, ect, will all read your reports. A detailed report with correct spelling and grammar will go a long way and make it look like you are squared away. Good luck in your pursuit of the best career on the planet!
