I have taken the Written Test have served 6 years in the Army as Military Police currently working on my AAS Criminal Justice with just over a semester to go. Filled out the Personnal History Statement which in its self was hard to remember; past neighbors, which I haven't talked to in over a decade. What are my chances of being hired? Have tried Marijuana 3 times since I was 18 once just before I shipped out for basic onceĀ  in 2003 and once in 2009 for trouble sleeping when I came home from Iraq. I was arrested once in 2004 for receiving stolen property charges were dismissed. Wrote 2 bad checks both of which were paid and less than 500.00 and have poor credit for which I am fixing now. Also have a Secret clearance with the DoD. Worked as a Armed Security Officer for Boeing Aerospace Defense

Be honest and do not attempt to sugar coat. You will have the opportunity to sell yourself.

You have some baggage, and I think you understand that. I would suggest getting your bachelor's degree. It will make you more marketable and will let some time pass since your last use of marijuana. It will also show that you have put those acts behind you and are much more responsible. I appreciate your service. That will help as well. Good luck.
