Posted 8 months ago I am curious if you are a licensed/certified police officer with the State of Texas or a academy graduate. Did you self sponsor or did you attend via an agency?

Posted 8 months ago I am a certified Texas Peace Officer. I was sponsored by a constables office. The constable sponsored me by carrying all of paper work such as, psychological, physical exam, and drug screening, they did not pay for my academy, i put myself through. However the Contables office that sponored me only has a few paid positions and is mostly reserved. I am ceritfied and currently applying at departments throughout the state.

Posted 8 months ago So are you working as an unpaid reserve for the Constable's office? And it sounds like you weren't really sponsered by the Constable's office as you paid for your own academy, normally a sponsering agency would pay for the academy, it sounds more like the Constable's office assisted you in getting into the academy. So the $64 question - are you a commissioned officer with the Constables office?

Posted 8 months ago Either way you want to put it, sponsored or assisted. I wore their patches in the academy. they are not carrying my commision. I am looking for a paid position. The state holds my certification for up to 2 years or until i become a sworn officer with an agency. sorry for the confusion, i made thread to help anyone who was trying to start the academy....

Posted 8 months ago You claim to be a certified police offier however, the constable is not carrying your commission. I am confused if you are a certified/licensed peace officer or just an academy graduate. Miles of differerence. Who carries your commission? Sorry to put you throught the ringer however, we seem to expose folks that are not completely honest. I am not saying you are deceiving however, have left me wondering. Take a deep breath and relax and please respond. I anxiously await your response. Thanks in advance.

Posted 8 months ago Until you are hired fully, reserve or full time paid, you are not yet a peace officer. Remember section 1702 of the Occupations Code. Congrats on passing the exam with such a high grade, but you still have some work to do. "Niether fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds." Buddha

Posted 8 months ago If I understand correctly, you have completed the TX requrements to be a peace officer in that you have successfully graduated an academy, but since you ae not employed anywhere, even as a reserve, you are not a commissioned TX peace officer. Good luck on finding employment, Texas, like many states that allow self sponsering/paying for the academy produce far more academy graduates than there are LE positions available.

Posted 8 months ago Sorry to see him close his account, I believe him to have been legimate and would have been a good addition to PL. He was willing to help others with the TX academy.
