Posted 9 months ago Just wanted to stop in and check and see how all of my police link friends are doing. Sorry I haven't had the chance to reply to comments or post to other members walls. I have been fairly busy with taking care of my grandpa who had stage 4 bone liver and lung cancer. I put off school for a semester to help with him. Well he passed tonight 8/9. I will start working as a emt soon hopefully. Then plan on going to college in the spring. I hope every one has been alright and as always stay safe.

| Posted 9 months ago Johnny, Having been through similar situations over the years, I can see you've handled this very difficult experience with maturity and grace. I am very sorry for your loss and, as uncledennis said, PM me if I can be of more help to you. BTW, I worked as an EMT before becoming a LEO. It was the wisest move I could've made to prepare me for law enforcement. THe experience and interaction with the emergencey service community gave me a leg up on the competition for the job. Godd luck. Keep you eye on the prize. Once again, my condolences to you and your family.

| Posted 9 months ago Thank you all very much. BigNTS I figured I would do emt about a year ago after reading many post of everybodies about finding a leg up. I thought that would be the best thing and give me valuable experience. I will be doing something I enjoy besides LE " The things you want are always possible: it is just that the way to get them is not always apparent. | Posted 9 months ago Thanks for the condolences, Cat it was hard for me but it is harder for my grandma. They just got remarried a hour before he died. So she was highly upset because she said she is a newly wed that has to bury their spouse. " The things you want are always possible: it is just that the way to get them is not always apparent. | Posted 9 months ago My condolences to you and your family, Johnny. It is neat that your Grandparents got to renew their vows and to reaffirm their love. You will remember that the rest of your life. I helped my dad when he was given the sentence of death with cancer. It took time away from my family at home but I do not regret it for a moment. (Dad lived 200 miles away). Good luck in school and you are one very strong young man. Proud of you. Bad stuff happens to good people, handle it and overcome.
