Posted 7 months ago The desk sergeant could not believe the phone call he had just received, and quickly ran in to the Captains office with the filled out Emergency Day Off request form, what could have caused this nost unusual occurence Did the worlds most interesting cop suffer an injury or illness? was there a family emergency? In all his years on the job he had never called in sick or taken a personal leave day or an emergency day off The captain read through the request form the sergeant had prepared for the worlds most interesting cop and in box 16 of the request form where it states "location to be contacted if traveling outside the state and jurisdiction" it stated, HOLIDAY INN, FT. BENNING GA. The captains guess was confirmed when, while watching ZNN news on the cable channel the following evening, there he saw the WORLDS MOST INTERESTING COP, standing outside the chapel at Ft. Benning with over a hundred others, He was dressed in jeans, cowboy boots, a long sleeve shirt with a leather harley davidson vest, on his vest was a miniature police shield with a mourning band attached, he had, the day before, jumped on his harley and rode all the way to Ft Benning Ga. to stand with the other HONOR GUARD riders who lined the approach to the Memorial service with their AMERICAN FLAGS held at attention with a silent salute. HE HAD COME TO GEORGIA TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE WORLDS MOST INFANTRY MAN, COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR BASIL PLUMLEY

Posted 7 months ago Upon hearing of Hurricane Sandy, he immediately burned vacation time, flew to the most hard hit areas and volunteered his time to help those who needed food, electricity, and gasolline. He doesn't wear a nametag or a fly a patch. He simply works anonymously but continuously. The Red Cross knows him on a first name basis and he is considered an asset in helping to restore the region. His own agency has asked the mayor to declare a decree stating the The Most Interesting Cop In The World would hold his seniority and paygrade while he is away. There have been no dissenting comments.

Posted 5 months ago Every year he conducts a secret ballot. Officers throw their names in a hat and the Lieutenant draws one name. The Most Interesting Cop trades with the winning cop and works his shift on Christmas Day so the officer can be home with his family.
