Interviewing Process

Posted 10 months ago I have started the first step and submitted my application to a local PD. I have friends in law enforcement but they are all on smaller departments and haven't taken the MMPI or a polygraph, and the interviewing process was a lot different I believe than what I will be doing. Can any one give me some advice on what to expect through this application process? maybe some pointers... I am already nervous!! |

| Posted 10 months ago Bump. Lots and lots of waiting anywhere from 6 months to a year. Have fun with the MMPI lol. http://www.iamsorryivotedforobama.com/ How's that HOPE and CHANGE working out for you? What would you do for a Klondike bar? |

| Posted 10 months ago Hurry up and wait..... Repeat, and repeat and repeat. You do the hurrying at their request and then they make you wait until the next request to hurry up. Frustrating? Yes, at times it can and will be, but be patient. Yeah...... MMPI test = If you were not crazy before taking this test, you will be by the time you are finished if not at some point in the middle. |

| Posted 10 months ago It's ok to be nervous. Everyone is and most folks do just fine. Just try to relax. Most of the questions seem repetative, and seems like you've already answered them. They do that for a reason. Just go with the flow. When you get to the polygraph, be 100% honest. They'll know if you're trying to be less than honest. Best wishes, and keep us posted on your progress. Oh, yeah. Plan on lots of waiting and frustration. It goes with the job, too. |

Yep, what he said! I felt like I needed to take a shower and go to confession afterward! (And I'm not even Catholic!) LOL |

| Posted 5 months ago Hey there! How is the process going? I found the MMPI to be very humorous. I mean, really? Who fails this? Just relax and be honest and you will be fine. Like everyone else has said, the hardest part is waiting for communication. Wishing you the best and looking forward to finding/reading an update!
