Lookin to get into competitive shooting, but am only working with minimum wage. Just wondering if anyone on PL knows of any complete

rifles, or of a build that hovers around the $450-$550 dollar range

Walmart where I live is selling an AR15 for around the 500 dollar range.  Might check there if you have a Walmart that sells firearms.

I paid about 800 for my Rock River and I love it.  I've never had an issue with it.  I would save and spend more in the beginning then maybe you will not have to do too much modifications.

Best advice of all right there. Spend the money once. There are different builds for different applications. What type of shooting are you planning to use it for? Long range, short range, timed course?

Funny how the only enumerated right that contains the phrase "shall not be infringed" suffers the heaviest regulation. I'm still trying to find where it says anything about hunting and targets.

Good deals to be had on Gunbroker. My bud got a Sig M-4 for just slightly over $800, which was a steal.

All 50yds or less?

I would say A3 flattop with Aimpoint PRO ~ 1000/450. Check gunbroker and see what they have. Sig Sauer, Bushmaster, Rock River, armalite. there are others but I can't think of them right now.

AR15 com would be a good place to check out too for more insight reviews etc.

You can Build one pretty cheap. I picked up a New Frontier Arms Polymer lower for about $150 and a SOTA Arms complete upper for about $390 works well

yeah but it varies moving to different firing positions, putting on a low power optic would assist in moving from target to target thanks for the insight

Wont need anything beyond 1x under 100 yds. Would have to be some precision shooting at maybe 200 before you go up to 2x or 4x. Any kind of magnification is going to weaken your acquisition close up. But that is just my opinion, take it with a grain of salt.

Good sights will hold true to 200 easy befure you have to start adjusting. If you run the A2 style irons all the adjustments are built in. But scope mounting will require an additional rail and suffers more with range variations. but still holds center mass, just have to sight it true at 100 and your 200 50 and 25 won't be too far off. But the A3 you can run backup ironsights and co-witness them with any 1x holo or red-dot.

Call me old fashion i like the A1 and A2 sights myself. They hold true no matter the abuse. And can stack on gadgets later if ya like.
