Citizens of California, California is coming after your guns again! SB 249 is aiming to take away AR type rifles from citizens who have done nothing more than purchase a rifle legally. Stop the gun grab contact your representatives!

Again? I didn't think Cali had any mag fed rifles left with the existing ban. Should be easy to track them all down since they have to be registered.

Oh well politicians... I think we should get a federal law passed that says it is legal to slap these people into next week.

Funny how the only enumerated right that contains the phrase "shall not be infringed" suffers the heaviest regulation. I'm still trying to find where it says anything about hunting and targets.

“While most gun owners are law-abiding, it is a fact that such weapons are more likely to be used to kill an innocent person than used in self-defense," Yee said in a press release. "One only needs to look at England, Japan, and other nations with strict gun access to see that these types of gun control laws are effective in preventing gun-related homicides.”

Key wording... gun-related homicides. They fail to note the overall increase in homicides rape bleh dead horse beating about to ensue.

"No one will convince me that it's anything other than a joke to say that having multiple clips and semi-automatic weapons that can shoot 100 or more bullets at a time is necessary in this state or in this country. It's ridiculous," Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, who is a co-author, told the Sacramento Bee.

I am still looking for this gun that can shoot 100 or more bullets at a time.... could you imagine the recoil? Laws written by clowns in suits who know nothing on what they are regulating. Just another "sugar-substitute" (saccharin for those that don't remember or never heard of it) that causes cancer, then it doesn't, then it does again, then it doesn't again.

I think the day they pass a total gun ban and our officers have to go up against mass murderers with stun guns and pepper spray is the day we should start charging these dips with conspiracy to commit murder.

The laws as written currently were based on a combination of features one being a detachable magazine, the law stated if the magazine release was disabled and required a tool (bullet button) to remove the magazine it was not considerd an assault weapon. Now the want to ban the tool. SB 249 is poorly written and vary vague which would make it wide open for interpretation, not good for californians

I think the only way to beat these asshats is through the voting process let the public decide what the laws should be

None of the laws are good for ya'll really.

When I talked to DoJ Firearms division and asked them about what was legal to carry on my truck they said

1) a handgun but it had to stay locked up

(alot of good that does me especially with the beuracracy of carrying it through multiple states. Concealed carry open carry locked up has to be placed here there while standing on your head singing im a little tea pot and clicking your feet together)

2) a full length bolt action rifle

(yeah im going to defend my 8x8 living space with that in a heavily populated area)

3) a shotgun

(what part of truck driver did you not understand)

And heaven forbid you have a legally owned AR-15 rifle legal in just about every state except cali and the disarmed northeast IL-ME.

I wish voting would fix it but consider the general population. Sad fact is for gun owners in California to enjoy less restrictions they have to go out of state away from the skeered populace. Not saying all of the people in Cali feel this way but there is a strong anti-gun majority there.

I just have to share this story because it's funny...

I had a 3am pickup in brooklyn (nice neighborhood /cough). The cops don't even go in there at night. I'm parked off to the side finishing up my paperwork when 2 males pull up in a BMW in front of my truck and get out and start walking toward the truck. The driver had a hammer in his hand and I didn't see what the passenger was carrying. So with some quick thinking I grabbed my stapler out of the glove box and set it on the dash in an open manner. They turned around got back in their car and left.

Yes I defended my truck by deterring a pending crime with a STAPLER.

On a more serious note the day I put defensive measures on the truck (won't say what) was the day after I stopped in West Memphis AR. If you are ever on a road trip across 40 DO NOT STOP THERE. KEEP GOING!!!
