Posted 10 months ago What do you prefer to use? Which brand, Composite or Full Steel Chain or Hinge What is your opinion of the colored ASP cuffs? Do you carry extra flexi cuffs for extras? How many sets do you have?
I prefer ASP Hinge cuffs personally, after that probably Hiats (I like the pre-load feature) I have another 3 sets of cuffs in my gear box in my truck In a world where there are Sheep and Wolves,

| Posted 10 months ago I've got several sets of the Smith & Wesson cuffs with the chain. I don't have any of the flex cuffs as the money to purchase them would have to come out of my pocket. As far as the color cuffs, I'm tempted to purchase a pair or two of the pink ones for whenever I pick up a Family Violence arrest, kind of a passive aggressive poke at the individual being taken in. | Posted 10 months ago I only marked Peerless, because that's whats on my duty belt. I also have a few sets of S&W, plus a set of peerless legs irons. I keep flex cuffs in my hat and a few in my duty bag. Personally, I prefer the chain cuffs. I've tried the hinge cuffs, but just not crazy about them. Mine are all stainless and are marked with my name or badge number (or both). |

| Posted 10 months ago It's been a while since I have posted anywhere, so I'll get into this one. I picked the ASP cuffs because I have 3 pairs of them. I personally have never had any issues with them what-so-ever. They are light weight, comfortable in my hands, easy to handle, and easy to operate. I don't have any use for the different colors that are available although so all of mine are black. Although I will say that having a pair of the pink ones on my duty rig would make for a very interesting conversation piece. I also own several pair of peerless handcuffs that I had prior to switching over to the ASP's. Both are quality hand-cuffs. My department also supplies Flex Cuffs for emergency use, but other than in training situation have never had to use them. PL Mentoring Team Member Compliance is not an option; it's a matter of time! |

| Posted 10 months ago I prefer Smith & Wesson Model 100 chain-linked, especially when cuffing in a hurry. I carry two sets on my duty belt. My shield number is engraved on both. I carry flex cuffs in my SRT bag. "What We Do In Life, Echoes In Eternity"

| Posted 10 months ago I was a Peerless kind of guy until I got my new ASP hinged cuffs. I absolutely love them! Easy to cuff folks even when they are struggling and once on I have heard they hurt like crazy. I carry 2 pairs on me, and have 2 pairs of Peerless chain types in the car for backup. You can't cure stupid. |

| Posted 10 months ago I used S&W for while and carry them as my secondary set on my belt. But I loved my ASP cuffs, all 2 weeks that I had them. They are somewhere in the dept with some officer now lol! Hopefully I can find them. You wouldn't go in there for a million bucks...A Cop does it for less...A Reserve does it for free.... |
