When I was browsing craigslist looking for antique badges which sometimes can be found there I saw an ad for what the seller says is and "obsolete" us marshals badge but it is obviously a foreign replica of a current issue badge which is obvious by the bellingham and carrington hallmark which I know is used as a hallmark by many of the foreign badge reproducers to make their items seem legitimate. I know that possesion of a look-a-like current issue federal badge is a serious offense and I don't think that anyone besides Federal LEO's from their own agency should posess a Federal badge from their agency but I don't know who to report this to. Can any of you guys maybe let me know who I can tell about this because having this item out their is dangerous. Let me know via PM or just comment.

Try the FBI or Marshals? If they can't advise then Homeland Security? Good luck...

Have you considered purchasing the badge and forwarding it to the marshals? You could gain some points with the agency.

I thought about buying it but I live too far away to go buy it plus the person is asking 500 and thats a lot just to turn it in to the marshals.

I think I'll call the marshals in Charlotte first and if not them the FBI.

Actually $500.00 is a small price to pay to get it off the street. You would probably get a nice letter of appreciation from the Marshals. You could attach the letter to a resume. My feeling is go for it.

By it being a lot of money I meant that I just don't have that kind of money that I can spend on something like this as much I would want to so I'm probably just let the marshals handle it. Trust me if I had 500 dollars to spend on doing something like this I would but I don't
