| Posted 11 months ago Hello John, Thank you for your service and welcome to PL. Although I have not investigated any collisions, I've done my fair share of traffic control around them. It's a fun job but someone has to do it! |

| Posted 11 months ago You are a great writer. I know a little about networking to improve your chances for promotion. Check out Namz, it will improve your reputation online. I just joined and it not only improved my Google ranking, it allowed me to network with some great people. If you'd like I can invite you to check the service out. Although it is free, I benefitted greatly by buying the Premium service. Just need your email address, and I'll invite you to check it out. Good luck on your promotion. |

| Posted 11 months ago Welcome to Police Link John . I took my Basic at Bragg back starting in November of 1966. I was a U.S. and those nasty old Drill Sergeants would constantly be on our case to become R.A.'s. It was enjoyable to watch the 82Nd. go through their stuff till I went to the Hospital with upper respiratory infection and saw one of those Troopers in training who had "ROMAN CANDLED" on a stretcher as they were taking him to the E.R. because he was not dead yet. "THAT WAS MY DOSE OF REALITY AND THE MIND SET CHANGED FROM GAME TO REAL LIFE". I did extend and got out in 1970. It took me 5 years to regain my compass in life after seeing way too much misery , then I joined the Police Department in 1975 and was Disability Retired in 1986 from two herniated disc's from making an arrest. I became an E.M.T. to further my abilities to help people then Accident Reconstruction School , yada , yada , yada. It was a wonderful experience for me and I hope you get a chance to work in Civilian Law Enforcement in the future. Good luck from Massachusetts. Glory earned on the field of battle , can never be taken away , you take it with you to the grave. Quote by General George Armstrong Custer |

| Posted 11 months ago Thanks for the warm welcome. ssu459, I was stationed at Leonard Wood for 3 years, so I'm familiar with the Ozarks. I enjoyed the area quite a bit. Although the weather could have used a bit of improvement. Harsh winters and blistering humid summers only separated by terrible thunderstorms... The people were great though. I've set my retirement date for September 2013. I think I'll take a couple years off and finish my degree on the GI Bill. Irishcop 1961, I grew up in NJ, Exit 15W, then moved down to 8A :-) Taxes are too high there though. I don't see how I could possibly be able to afford to live up there again. Living in the South is much more reasonable. MarlyB, I've been to Cali a few times, only a little bit out by the coast, Bay area. Most of it has been spent in the Death Valley area. I absolutely love it there and will probably end up living out there somewhere either in AZ, NV, NM or CA. msbeahavens, Thanks for the compliment. I do try to write well, as I find it to be of extreme importance in our line of work. I read many Officer statements which are not written well, and it bothers me. I was embarrassed once by a defense attorney for my lack of proper spelling, and grammar. I learned that lesson quickly and was signed up for the next English course at the college on base. Once again, thank you all for the warm welcome, and I look forward to talking with all of you in the near future. Stay Safe, John In a world where there are Sheep and Wolves,
I am NOT a hero
