Posted 11 months ago Hello all, New to the forum thing here but here is a little about me. I am 47 years old and I am currently TRYING to start my life long dream of becoming a law enforcememnt officer. I just recently took a TABE test and passed. I have been looking into joining the Sheriff's Office as a deputy. They will send you to the dual academy and require you to be a detention deputy for at least 2 years. I have no problem with commiting in that manner. I currently am unemployed since February and I figure now is my chance to get into LE ! Yeah I know......47 years old. But I hope that I can succeed. Well, its good to be a part of a forum where I know a ton of you have experience and knowledge to guide me. |

| Posted 11 months ago Hi from South Florida....Best of luck to you. I don't know what county you are applying to, but I wouldn't limit myself to just the SO. If you really want to get hired, I would put in applications to all agencies in the area and if you need to put your self through the part time academy to become cetrified, do it. It depends how bad you want it! |
