Posted 11 months ago Hey everyone, I wanted to introduce myself to the forums: my name is Mike; I'm 23 and soon to graduate from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in English with a French minor. I'm currently working through the hiring process with a couple different departments in my area for a recruit position (I just passed my first-ever oral board!). I'm Captain of the Cal Boxing Team and just completed a 60-page honors thesis on Joseph Conrad. A lot of people say that an English major is strange coursework for a future cop, but let's face it: I wanted to study a subject I really enjoy, and I've learned to think, read and write clearly and analytically. I'm planning on doing an M.A. in Criminal Justice once I get hired and through my probation period. Hoping to join your ranks soon, -Mike B. |
