......what it is like to sing songs in rememberance of the love we share for this great nation.............

America the Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet

Whose stern impassioned stress

A thoroughfare of freedom beat

Across the wilderness!

America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,

Confirm thy soul in self-control,

Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved

In liberating strife.

Who more than self their country loved

And mercy more than life!

America! America!

May God thy gold refine

Till all success be nobleness

And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream

That sees beyond the years

Thine alabaster cities gleam

Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea!

You can't cure stupid.

I love this song.   When I look at the beauty of our nation 'God shed her grace on thee' always comes to mind.    We still live in the best nation on earth.    July 4th is one of my favorite holidays.   I love displaying my flag to let everyone know how I feel about my country and remember the ones who fought for it.

Display your flag with pride (should be done all year anyway.....)

Bump to headbrer, thanks for the meaningful post  brother ajsdaddy.Believe we all agree that we could use a little tweek here and there  from time to time but there's still no place better, ever.Unfortunately ,every generation or so our youth have to pay the price to hold onto our dear freedoms as some  country or group of countries believe it's clever to pull on Superman's cape.--Indeed,may God always bless America and let us never forget that if it wasn't in HIS grand design,we wouldn't exist.

I love the 4th of July. I have fond childhood memories of the holiday. I always looked forward to the parade we attended each year, (especially since my dad was a firefighter and he marched in the parade) and to show our respect and gratitude to the men and women in the military for what they did to give us the freedom we have. After the parade we always had a picnic with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs followed by an awesome fireworks display.

Now that I have a family of my own, I'm glad I can continue the tradition!
