Posted 12 months ago Hello everyone, I have a question about handcuff holders for my duty belt. I have the asp tactical aluminum hinged handcuffs and I am a fan of the hanging style handcuff holders, however I ordered one of my friends that went through basic school with me one of safariland's hanging holster for his duty belt and it did not fit my hinged handcuffs like I would have liked for it to. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives that would work better with the hinged design? I appreciate in advance any help I recieve on this topic. Thanks, J.A. Chapman |

Posted 12 months ago Not quite sure what you are asking. Was your cuff holder a simple strap (which shoulod fit any handcuffs fine as the handcuffs typically hang with the hinged/chained side down. Maybe you have the kind with a strap and a second strap at the top that holds the hinged side and the cuffs don't fit too well in it. If that is the case I would suggest you get a ASP open cuff case with a snap that connects through the center of the cuffs.

Posted 12 months ago I usually just pay a homeless guy $10 a day to carry around all my stuff. Kinda like a duty gear Caddy

Posted 12 months ago http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum744.php This is the actual model that I ordered for my friend. And what I meant was when I tried putting my handcuffs in them they were a tight fit and it made them hang offset. I would rather them hang even, if what I am saying makes any sense. Treehugger- I was using the caddy off of happy Gilmore until he decided to go up on his rates.

Posted 12 months ago I failed to mention you may wish to check ebay. I purchased my leather gear on ebay at quite a savings. They have pics and you can communicate with the seller(s),

Posted 12 months ago Personally I carry two sets of cuffs on my belt. I use an ASP double carrier and, while bulky, serves its purpose and keeps the cuffs secure. I cannot wear cuffs on the small of my back therefore won't wear the dual singles. Hurts the lower back too much for me. Bump UncleD on Ebay, it can be your best friend. You can't cure stupid.

Posted 12 months ago I also carry a double pouch up front. I would not like my cuffs hanging freely like that. It would bother me. But there are several models of holders for a reason....everybody has their own preference. Bump to ajsdaddy. After a few weeks of cuffs on the back, my legs started to go numb and I couldn't sleep at night because my back was killing me. Keep your gear free of your back if possible.

Posted 12 months ago Thanks to everyone who offered help on this topic. I looked on ebay and found some possible options for me. In regards to room on my belt, I'm still a rookie so I don't have my taser or oc spray yet so I have a little extra space to work with.
