Read Genesis 1 and John 1:1-2.

Genesis 1 takes us through creation.

1. Do you have any questions about any of the account of creation?  Specific days, verses, etc?

2. In all that He created, He didn't give anything rule over another - until man.  God gave man the dominion and rule over all plants and animals.  Does this still apply today?

3. I want to point out that Genesis 1:26 is the first reference we see to the trinity.  “Let Us make man in Our image…”  Your thoughts?

4. What are your thoughts in regard to Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, 2?  The phrase “in the beginning” is referring to the time before creation (in both verses).  This tells us that Jesus (the Word - John 1:14) was in existence before the world began.  What does that mean to you?

1. I have no questions or doubts regarding creation, however, I do find it fascinating that things that I enjoy was created in a mere six to seven days. I also find it ironic that people can believe that greek gods existed but in return deny that a God so magnificent to create a sea, land a creature etc... never existed.

2. I believe that man has dominantly always ruled the earth in many aspects; I also feel that evil does as well or maybe man has just become evil? I often wonder why society acts the way that it does did God just turn man loose to sit and watch how far they would go in their corruptness? Is this his ultimate plan ? Will man self destruct themselves and each other ( yes I do believe so) or has man just failed him greatly and he never expected this . Thankful we have a merciful and forgiving God.

3. We as christians are expected to walk the walk and talk the talk. God expects us to be the light in a darkened world to separate ourselves from society in the aspect of becoming and being a follower. God says man is to be like his image so therefore man has failed him.

4.He is the beginning and end the alpha and the omega ruler over all things.

I would first like to respond to all those who doubt creation and subscribe to evolution. I think it is an awesome thing to see how God created the world and everything therein in six days and rested on the seventh day and made it holy. It is not that God needed rest or anything at all ,for he could have made all things in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, but in his infinite wisdom he set all things in an order. He made things in a specific order and at the top of that order was man, that he gave dominion, and created in his image. He also set in order the way man should live and work. He established the order of setting apart a day of both rest and worship.

God showed his great authority in his word: The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therin. psalm 24:.  He goes on to show his preeminence, through his son Jesus Christ: for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: and he is before all things, and by him all things consist. and he is the head of the body, the church: who is the begininning, the first born from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:16-1

Finally, if anyone doubts that Jesus was with God from before the foundations of the world, look at John 1:1-3: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

I think that these worderful and true verses show the power, authority, and preeminence of God the father, God the Son, and the work of God the Holy Ghost !! (Trinity)

Fate:

1. It has always amazed me that people would rather believe something as complicated as evolution instead of the simple truth - God made it all.  I'll never understand why they do that.

2. God created man to praise Him.  BUT - He gave us free-will.  That free-will allowed us to make our own decisions.  God knew from the beginning what would happen here on this earth.  He knew that man would fall.  He knew it would be a corrupt and sinful world.  That is why He provided His Son for us.  So basically- yes - He put us here and has let us do what we please - to a point.  We are all born into sin and must repent.  The fact that we are born into sin gives us an evil nature that we must continually battle (Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.").  When we do not allow God to change us, we allow the evil, fleshly man to rule us.  Rest assured - we serve a God Who knew all of this would happen.  Nothing surprises Him or catches Him off guard.  That's the great thing about Him - omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent.

3. God knows we can't be perfect.  Only He is perfect.  But He does expect us to live holy lives (1 Peter 1:16 "Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.").  This was first said to the Israelites (Leviticus) but reiterated in 1 Peter.  We must sanctify ourselves daily.  I heard a wise man say it like this:  "We have the ability to say or do many things.  But we choose not to.  We choose to live a holy life."  That is sanctification.  Many people don't like that subject, but if we are to reflect the Son, then we must live holy.  I believe we disappoint God every time we allow the flesh to rule.  That is why we must repent daily for our sins - intentional and unintentional sins - as well as for our failures and short-comings.

kaalima: well said!

1. No questions for me. I believe that God created all things in this earth and not some big bang or explosion or whatever they are calling it these days. I just find it so amazing that God created all things in this world. I cannot help but to look at the skies during the evening time and see the awesome sky, clouds and trees in the background. All created by God. I am one to at times when special things happen in the outer space I am planted outside to see it. When we have meteor showers or planets become visible due to something or the moon turns a certain color, I am usually planted outside in the back yard laying on my back. At the same time watching these beautiful things take place it makes me remember who made these things. God made the trees that I used to eat berries off as a kid. Sometimes I wish creation could be teached in public schools.

2. Yes I do believe that man is and should be ruler of all things God had created. But man has taken that authority and power and has abused it. Those of us in law enforcement know this cause fo all the drugs we these days. Man is taking things God had made and are using them for wrong. But God knew what would happen with this world before He even made a thing on the first day.

3. Not to sure what everyone else thinks but I looked at a couple different commentaries about what the first part of that statement "let us...our". But personally I think God is directing that statement back to Himself. God made man after himself with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God created humans in their whole being, body and soul that reflects God and possess life from Him.

4. To me its hard to even comprehend how something was even made before everything in this universe was made. It almost hurts just trying to think about it. But like the verses stated, Jesus is the begining and the end,.

You wouldn't go in there for a million bucks...A Cop does it for less...A Reserve does it for free....

Stryker:  Want something that will really make your brain hurt?  Try wrapping your mind around this:  God wasn't made.  He's just always been and always will be.  That thought alone can keep me going for a while.  I try to think about that and the fact that Heaven is forever and we'll never get bored or tired.  It messes with me!  I get bored easily.  I always have.  But to think that we will never be bored or tired of Heaven just baffles me!   We humans see everything in a "made" and "ended" sort of perspective.  We can't understand it.

I read a quote the other day that I really like.  It said "You don't have a soul.  You are a soul.  You have a body."  ~C.S. Lewis

Now THAT made me stop and think.

You're right about God directing "Us...Our" at Himself.  It is the first time we see a reference to the trinity.  That's what I think is interesting.  People argue that there is no trinity, that God is only one being.  But if they read the Word, they would see differently.

I enjoy looking at creation, too.  It amazes me at what all is there that we overlook everyday.  God made some of the coolest things and we rarely take time to seek them out.  That is one reason I like playing in the yard with my 3-year-old niece.  She finds the most amazing things to look at.  And I sit in awe at what God made.
