"When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have set in place, what is man that You are mindful of him and the son of man that You care for him?" Psalm 8:3-4

How cool is it that the same God Who created all of the heavens and the stars, moon, sun, clouds, birds, fish, animal of every kind and plant of every kind loves US?!

He knows every flower that is on the earth. He knows every raindrop that falls. He knows every design for every snowflake. And he knows every hair on my head and yours. He knows every grain of salt and drop of water in the ocean and every shell in that ocean.  He called it all "good."  BUT He loves us. He loves US!  He chose to breathe His breath into US!

That is AWESOME! When I think about all of that, I have no problem giving my all to Him. I have no problem letting Him have my life. Why? Because He loves me and wants the best for me. And since He loves me, I don't have to worry about His plan. I only have to trust Him and walk in it.

Do you have times when you wonder if God is listening?  Have you ever felt like He is a million miles away?  Rest assured, my friend, He is with you.  He cares for you.  He loves you.  He has your best interest at heart.

When we decide to completely live in His will, we may not always understand or even like what we are going through, but we can always know that He has it under control and is working all things for the good of those who love Him.

So my question today is this:

What are some verses or ways that you remind yourself that He is in control?  How do you encourage yourself and stay encouraged in the Lord?

 Bump!

I know it is AWESOME!!! Just to sit here and think about it all, completely blows my mind. What an awesome God we serve.

Know exactly where your coming from, I have often felt that way in the last 5 years of my life. I've always wondered if God was listening to me and if he even knew what I was going through. I've been trying the last 5 years to go full time law enforcement with no luck with any deparment in a 60 mile radius of where I live. Its to the point where I have been reapplying to the same departments over and over again, with the same rejections. And for the first few years in my applying I used to get real mad and angry when the rejection letter would come in the mail. I used to not pray about these rejections and think that no one could help me, God doesn't care what I do or God is putting this big wall in front me and not allowing me to go through it. But the last couple years its been different. Every application I get I fill it out and before sending it in I pray to the Lord and let Him be in control of the process or if I get in. And I let God be in control and not get mad or angry when I get rejection letter. I just praise God and that He has something better for me and maybe God wants me somewhere else and not that department. In matter of fact I had two rejection letters yesterday. I thank the Lord for it and I will continue to praise Him!!

Some ways I find to stay encouraged is to come on here and read some of the post and be interactive with you guys. Also helps to read the Bible and pray.

You wouldn't go in there for a million bucks...A Cop does it for less...A Reserve does it for free....

My favorite time to pray when I was still on the street was late at night; I'd shut down everything but the police radio and God and I would talk. I never felt closer to Him than I did when the darkness surrounded me . I knew He was in control and I was in good hands. Strykr, sometimes it's hard to sit back and wait for His timing, but when you do and His timing previals, the results are going to be more spectacular and better than you could ever imagine. Been there, know that!

I graduated in December with my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice.  Since November, I have put in over 200 resumes and applications and still no job - not even part-time.  I used to get angry, frustrated, hopeless.  But i have since learned that God has a perfect will for my life.  When I made the decision to trust Him for that will, I made the decision to take what He gives me and be grateful.  I do the same thing you do.  I fill it out, pray and wait.  He knows what He's doing and I'm content to let Him handle it.

Praying for you my friend!

I personally believe the only thing I control here on earth are my actions and attitudes/feelings.  I even ask God for help with that.  I believe it when His Word says "The steps of a righteous man are ordered."

From time to time, after I have laid something at His feet, I will sneak over and pick it back up.  Only after I have exhausted and overly-stressed myself does it hit me, "He had this under control.  Give it back."

I say this often to remind myslef that He is in control:  God is sovereign.  That says it all.
