"But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the LORD, and He answered me from His holy hill. Selah" Psalm 3:3,4

How great is it that we have a Father Who is ready to heal us, protect us, lift us in times of sorrow and dismay? How great is it that we know all we have to do is cry out to Him and He will hear and save us?

When we're going through a battle, sometimes it is hard to see all of that. Sometimes, you don't even want to hear all of that. You get to the place where you believe it will never get better and you think you will surely die in the middle of your battle. Sometimes, you want to just die in the middle of your battle.

BUT - David said it better than anyone else in Psalm 23. He said "though I walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death..." (emphasis added) We have to remember we are walking through this battle not into it to die. We have to remember that God has given us promises. If we die in the middle of our battle, then those promises can't be fulfilled - which would make God a liar and THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE.

He is faithful. He is my Healer. He is all I need. And as my Portion, He is more than enough. When the seas around me are tumultuous, and it seems like the waves will drag me under, all I have to do is cry out to God. He calms those seas. We have to remember that every second of every moment of every day is in the palm of His hand. Nothing happens that He doesn't allow. He has a reason. But even if we can't see that reason, He is still sovereign.

When I reach rock bottom, I simply remember the song "Healer" and the message within it. He is my Healer and He is more than enough and He is all I need. He holds it all and all I have to do is put my trust in Him and allow Him to rule His way. When I submit to His will, I have nothing to worry about or be afraid of. He is perfect and His ways are perfect.

God because I can't think of anyone else that would put up with my shenanigans in my lifetime

I absolutely love the book of Psalms because it pertains to whatever burden you are enduring. I've turned to it quite a few times!

I love this statement.  Many people think that just because they know the Bible and can 'argue' it flawlessly, hat they are okay.  But the truth of the matter is this:  If they don't know The Source of The Word, then they know nothing.

God has been my strength and shield through the best an worst times of my life.  I love the song that says "If it had not been for the Lord on myside, tell me, where would I be?"  That song truly says it all.
