Posted about 1 year ago I am using this site as a tool, I can se there are a lot of resources here for anyone interested in a career. I really feel like I am ready now, I am 25 years old with good priorities. I am not a partier, I have a family and that is my priority. So I don't feel like there is anything that will distract me from the academy. I have some criminal justice college work under my belt, and I will finish my degree, I am excited that the academy will help take care of my electives. I grew up in a pretty bad neighborhood, and it has given me a lot surprisingly. Scary situations have made me more aware of my surroundings, I swear I look out of the corners of my eyes more than normal. I pick up on weird activity, and I am one of those people calling the non emergancy line reporting things that are out of place. For instance this might sound dorky to some people so laugh away: I was turning left onto the the freeway. It is dark outside and I notice 3 officers cars, lights on and they are inspecting a car that appears to be empty (I can tell because we are driving slowly passed so we don't hurt anyone) I didn't think too much into it just a normal traffic stop type of thing right? Well that was until about a half a mile south of the onramp I see a man walking on the side of the freeway, seemed like he was in a hurry. Now many might just think he ran out of gas etc. What I noticed was the onramp is where the car and cops were, gas stations were literally a 5 minute walk from that car. Yet this guy walking on the freeway is headed south and the next exit is probably 2 miles away. I called the non emergency they transfered me to the highway patrol. The dispatcher or whomever I was transfered to seemed happy to have the information. I don't know what became of it, if nothing else it's dangerous to walk on the side of the freeway. |
