Does anyone know of any legitimate websites that will help with passing the various depts. entrance exams? I've taken two tests so far and scored in the lower 70's, I know I need the upper 90's to seriously be considered for employment.

Most agencies have their own test. As far as I know, there is no "blanket test" that each department gives.

Our department hires off of a Civil Service exam, which is some basic knowledge and a lot of common sense type questions.

Good luck.

While many agencies have their own version of the written test, many of those (at least in California) are very similar.   Keep applying and don't let it get you down if you failed or scored low.  Most people that score low, do so because they over think the questions.  Relax and take your time.

A company called "ARCO" use to put out testing booklets that libraries kept in the Reference sections.  Each book is designed around test questions that an individual job may have in their entrance exams.  I borrowed three of them aimed at police work and for a week before my written test I just kept going through them taking the tests, to just put my mind in a testing mode.  Aced the entrance exam!  Check with your library to see if they still have anything like those books still on their shelves.  Good luck in your endeavors.

Try this link if you can't find them in the library.  Retype with the dot in the space noted. . . .

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them.
