Posted over 1 year ago Ok, I am an LEO in Illinois, and while on patrol tonight, I had a new one thrown at me.....Have you ever heard of this.
I pull a car over for speeding, 60 in a 40, and when I go to the driver and ask if there is a reason to be going this fast, this is what I got. The female driver told me that she was speeding as a part of a bet. She said she was playing a game, called, "Bed A Badge", and that they made bets on who could get pulled over and sleep with the officer, hence the name, "Bed A Badge". I was curious if any other officer had heard this. and YES, I wrote the lady her ticket, and while she was cussing me out, I told her maybe she would have better luck if she tried playing, "Jump the Judge".

Posted over 1 year ago I have never heard of this and hope never to. "Jump a Judge" awesome! LOL Rule 1) End the day in better condition than you started. Rule 2) Be smarter, faster, stronger, tougher, meaner than any son of a bitch who tries to make you violate rule 1.

Posted over 1 year ago You know, this sounds like it is stupid, but I thank God every day for my dash cam for reasons just like this. It is getting to where we as officers get accussed of so much every time we make a stop. I saved the disk of this traffic stop just in case it does go to court instead of her paying the ticket.

Posted over 1 year ago I hope your digital recorder was on........... Her admission of guilt as stated along with her explanation should be admissible evidence. I would love to see the look on her face when the recording is played in court. Likewise, I hope no officer is fool enough to fall for this stunt.

Posted over 1 year ago Yes, I always have the recorder on when I make a stop, both audio and video. I have it set up to where any time the emergency lights are activated, the recorders both come on automatically. I have been an officer for 21 years in the Army, and 10 years as a civilian, and have had to go to court with the recordings, but I had never heard of this game until tonight. I too pray that no Officers are fool enough to lose their career over something like this. I know there are a lot of small departments that do not have dash cams as I have been in a couple of those departments, this can be a very scary thing.

Posted over 1 year ago She and whoever bet her on this are innovators; they're trying out new forms of "Speed" Dating BA-DUM-TSH. (I couldn't resist). I did like the "Jump a Judge" bit though.
