If you have gotten this far, you are now in the new Politics Forums area.

This forum was created on this date to provide a soapbox for any and all political view.

Rule #1. This is not an arena for attacking people. Civil discourse is encouraged but lambasting another member will not be tolerated. "Sparkly", vigorous and fist shaking interaction is cool as long as temperance is liberally applied.

Rule #2. You may have an opinion about our current President. Out of deference for the Office of President of the United States, please be respectful. If you need to learn how to be respectful, watch a few installments of The Factor to see how opposing elements can intelligently engage.

Rule #3. Do not state anything here that would bring the ire of the Secret Service. I will most certainly cooperate with them as it pertains to anything perceived as a threat to the Office of President or our country. Local law enforcement may also become involved.

More rules and guidelines may be added as we go.

Good luck and have fun.

Go ahead and create your own discussions and political topics in this forum area. It doesn't have to be attached to this one.

Fantastic! I agree with all the rules that TheSarge laid out and understand he created this Forum just for this purpose because the elections are close but he can take it away just as quick if people mess it up, including me. With that in mind I will state my opinion respectfully and also KEEP AN OPEN MIND to everyone's ideas. Those that wish to try and slam anyone I will ignore.

Thanks again Sarge. Now I know that Rule #3 is deadly serious and I agree but you have to admit, in a way it is also funny. My strangely warped mind can actually see TheSarge pointing the SS in the right direction of any offender. <LOL> I know he will too and frankly, so would I. Any physical threats towards elected officials is something that is way to serious and these guys do not have a sense of humor about anything that looks vaguely a threat, that's their job.

Let the debates begin!

Here's hoping this forum can survive,

The upcoming election is by far one of the most important as it is not only a referendum on the curren tpolitical structure but a bellweather on the direction this country will take.

When the President took office I accepted that he would act in a certain manner, understanding that any president must remain true to certain aspects of his platform I can see where this President has done so. However I disagree strongly with him on many of his policies and am not a supporter of a second term.

On a related topic I have been part of the security teams for four Presidents including Mr. Obama. I would have to say that of them all the senior Mr. Bush was the nicest, although you could see why Mr. Clinton was as popular as he was. When he was in the room it was like he was talking just to you.

I've learned never to discuss religion or politics, that's some heated discussion material there.

I would also like to thank the FA and others involved for taking their time out to create a platform for the Members Here.

I'll be more of a Voyeur, but I will submit an argument (of my)pro's and Cons re: each candidate running for POTUS.  I figured that would be easier than addressing each individual argument/Debate/Opposing view ect.  Any view or Opinion of Mine will be backed up with Cross References and then matched up with valid links from sites of substance. {that's good right}

This  wil be a very good learning experience for myself being a first time voter

I share the same fears as a lot of members here,  friendship is valuable and I don't want to say something "wrong".

However, I think we're hella stronger than that or we wouldn't all be members of  POLICELINK.

Thanks.
