Yeah, I totally agree.  I know you are not trying to be funny, Sis.  This person does need some help.  How many entries does it take for everyone to see that something is really wrong here in one way or another.  There comes a time in which words stop being funny.  I think as intelligent, talented, courageous, and brave as (I know most of us are) I would like to think that we can help others who are in obvious need or distress to him/herself or possibly to others.  I don't know what can be done.  Maybe you can do something to help, Sis.  I'm concerned for this person and maybe others as well. 

this almost seems like tourettes. you're not  able to control  what you say.

Just because someone is in dire need of help and support doesn't mean they can't cop a 'tude'.  And get verbally abusive.  Cops deal with it all the time.  So do parents and siblings, teachers, school counselors, pastors, doctors, husbands and wives.  Who are all brave, talented, courageous, etc.  And professional.

And exercise plenty of compassion.  Hour-to-hour.  

This is PoliceLink, not the Dr. Phil Show.  The OP is disrespectful.  We don't have to pantomime blowing the OP's brains out, but holding his hand and tolerating his rudeness because his posts are off is more than a little patronizing. I don't think the OP deserves to be treated like a sick puppy.  He deserves the dignity of having his bad attitude addressed.

I am one of the first people who is intolerant of disrespect to myself and others; irrespective of what title someone holds.  With that being said, I do not think the OP's intent was discrespect.  I also don't think the OP is drinking or on drugs, causing his impairment, which prompted this debate. 

Yes, you are correct.. this is not the Dr. Phil Show, however when you have dealt with severe mental illness in the past, then you start becoming aware of other people who may need help... and this concern should be noted.  Showing dignity to the OP is all relative.  Are we showing dignity when we show inappropriate behavior back at him?

Oh, and not trying to be patronizing here, with all due respect.... but I have had enough experience with people who need help, it is sickening!  

This is simply and opinion, and looking at the posts of the OP it is justified. 

An underlying cause AND an idiot punk who just hates the police are not incompatible.  Budding lay analysts can drop the OP a  pm rather than publicly "diagnose" his "case" then micro-manage the range of reactions he is getting here.  The OP knows he can expect and get these kinds of reactions on the street and in his life.  

It's called social disapproval.   It often means looking all five of someone's personalities in the eye and doing a human being the favor of saying, "You're talking crazy!"  

The OP did say "shut up."  That one should be taken on face value. The OP does claim to be a Police Inspector.  If he is not a Police Inspector, that is a violation of the TOU whether or not the OP is baked on both sides.  

Or just...baked.

I believe he may be suggesting he's airport Law Enforcement!  Send ESU/EMT's just  in case.

I "peeped" he was crazy from the Door.  Now A good way to get your  butt killed in NJ/NY/Boston at an AIRPORT is to go Ranting something Crazy.......    Maybe he needed a little wake up out of it shaky shake b/c once Security or a real LE thinks he's going to do harm to a group of people,i.e. he stated he's LE(can be perceived as he's packing a loaded weapon) and he will {Meet Police} at the Airport!! Mind you in BOSTON, Sh@@ may hit the fanny fan!   I'm Yet to see DR. Phil Help any Dead Man...... just saying............  I'm have much empathy for the Handicapped wether Mentally incapacitated or Physically disabled, However they play "Crazy pyscho Rambo", the're going to get slightly humbled before they hurt me, my kids, others and especially themselves.

Denise65 - I listed "parents."  Mothers and fathers fall into that category.  I'm not getting into a "how much experience do you have, let's see your credentials" dispute with you.

But if you want to hang your shingle out here at PL, so that "things could be looked at" in the name of the common cause of protecting Logan Airport, I think you'll have to run that by the mods.

What do you know about mental illness?  Do you know what unstable people are capable of?  What if this person is a threat to other people?  You are making an assumption just like I am.  Oh and you left out mother and father on your list.  No we can't save the world.  We are community of people who have come here for a common cause.  Don't you think some of these things should be looked at, you know, like when someone starts ranting and mentioning Airports or do you know this person Marley???  Oh and you don't have to be Dr. Phil to show compassion or concern for people's safety.  Just my opinion (of course).

Folks this is the internet and as such there are hundreds of thousands of people on it and some end up here. We can't be the place for individuals with special needs to come to for help. If these people are in fact that bad off then it is the responsibility of that persons caregiver to keep an eye on them.

I don't believe that many of us hold a degree to practice any form of Psychology or to give medical advice to these individuals.

While not assuming anything, I speculate that this person is BOTH "special needs" and "putting us on". When you think about it, some of the PL "members-in-good standing" are prone to expressing their boredom in peculiar ways. Well, here's some news: "peculiar" comes in many shapes and colors. I think this is someone who has a learning disability AND is having a bit of fun with you.
