Posted over 1 year ago About 0645 this morning I had a convoy of power trucks get on I12 in Baton Rouge in front of me. They were the Emergency Response Team from Oklahoma ! I didn't get a chance to count how many but several bucket trucks, a contractor truck and a "chase" truck headed East. I can only assume they are heading to the East Coast to stage for the hurricane. My husband told me yesterday he saw a convoy of Asphodel trucks heading East as well. (For those of you not familier with them they specialize in tree removal). God Bless these men that give up their time to help people halfway across the country from their own homes !!! PL's Dedicated Vetting Agent |

| Posted over 1 year ago being from Oklahoma, we are pre-disposed to bad weather, I dont know of a single season that we have that we dont have some kind of record breaking weather system, with that okies are always more than willing to lend their knowledge to those who may get overwhelmed with storms. It is always appreciated when someone notices the hard work that those guys and gals put in, I know I sure appreciate them when they deal with our weather, thanks Cat on behalf of the power companies ! |

| Posted over 1 year ago Yep bluelinegirl, it's nice to see people doing for others. We get asked all kinds of questions too, both as a state and as a department, way to much experience with natural disasters !!!! PL's Dedicated Vetting Agent |

| Posted over 1 year ago Great, I'm sure there is always a money angle in it somewhere, but I think it's refreashing to see people pulling resources together and lending the hands when and where it is needed. It reaffirms my faith in people. I enjoyed helping out after Katrina! Maybe I'm a crusader, but I get called worse... |

| Posted over 1 year ago And we appreciated you CSIguy !!! I'm not a native New Orleanian, hell I live 70 miles away !!! But I was there too I have the UTMOST respect for the firefighters and cops who were there. Those guys had lost almost everything and they were still there, doing their jobs the best they could and trying to make things better. It was a horrible stressful time and I know bad things happened I hope it's never that bad again. BUT this thread is supposed to be about thanking the people who come to help! So THANK YOU !!!!!
