| Posted over 1 year ago .40 caliber. Basically, our firearms instructor was given the task of choosing a semi-auto for us to transition into after we retired our old .357 mags. After much research, he decided the best option for us would be the .40 cal. Since then, we've been through several different .40s the latest being the H&K Model P2000. I know a lot of people prefer Glocks but the H&K fit our budget and performance constraints. PL MENTORING TEAM MEMBER "Don't underestimate the drawing power of the Garden State." Well, we don't know anything about you and I'm thinking this discussion should be in an LEO Only forum. Just my opinion. |

| Posted over 1 year ago .45 Because they don't make a .46? Ok, how's this? I shoot it well, and it gets the job done. I've never felt under gunned by not having as much ammo as the other guys with 40s. I know my particular load performs well. Somewhere a true believer is training with one goal in mind...to kill you...will you be ready when you meet? Problem is, they OP isn't a verified LEO and would have trouble following the thread. Personally, I don't see problem sharing cursory information without too much detail. Everyone knows we carry guns - some big, some bigger. As long as we don't divulge the secret handshake... PL MENTORING TEAM MEMBER "Don't underestimate the drawing power of the Garden State." | Posted over 1 year ago When it comes to caliber a hand gun is a hand gun is a hand gun. None of the usual rounds 9mm, .40, .45,.38, or even the mystical .357 sig (9mm magnum) are really very stand out from the herd when it comes to "stopping power". What ever you have the key is training, moving, and cover. |
