| Posted over 1 year ago Can you be a bit more specific in your request for assistance? What, exactly, are you seeking assistance with? Also, could you post an introduction in the INTRODUCTION area so that the membership can get to know a little about you before you jump in to the threads asking questions (it is a matter of site ettiquette). What State do you live in ? (This will permit Officers/Members from your State to offer specific assistance). Where are you going to school? What are you majoring in? What is your goal, Law Enforcement, Forensic Sciences, etc..... "Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected."

| Posted over 1 year ago I remember being told that Forensic Science degrees which were offered at my local college are not accepted for Forensic jobs, but this was years ago. I was told to stick to a physics, chemistry or some other hard science degree!

This still does not explain in what way you need assistance. "Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives." - Ronald Reagan

No need to be snippy there Skylor. An individual interested in pursuing a career in the Forensic Science arena could just as easily be majoring in Chemistry, Physics, Entomology, Botany, Computer Sciences or any number of other Forensic related Majors. Forensics is a relatively broad field with many specialty areas. If you come here asking for assistance then it would behoove you to be a little less caustic in your comments. The members here are more than willing to help and offer advice but we do need to be able to ask questions of you without you getting "Pissy" in responding. Now, once again, exactly what is it that you want assistance with? "Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected."

| Posted over 1 year ago Does anyone else remember this thread posted by the OP several months ago? (Sorry, I don't remember how to paste a link anymore, but it pops up if you run a search on it under the "discussion" option.) - Falsifying a statement In that thread the OP states he was facing felony charges of "Impersonating a public servant?" I wonder if he accepted the plea agreement his attorney was recommending.... |

| Posted over 1 year ago Mr. Geralds, Hey a friendly point of view. Your first post was very vague. Police and forensic people alike are very detail orientated. Your second post, although you may not mean to have come off rude, I even found a tad bit rough. Your third post seemed to followed the second with a hint of condesention. Look, this website could be a great tool, used to make friends and some great mentors. It's like going to a new school your senior year. There are tons of great and experienced people who have been on this site quite awhile. You are the rookie of rookies. A better way to have post would of been to say; Homies, Ladies and Gentlemen Alike, I'm currently enrolled and studying forensic science and looking forward to obtaining my degree. I was hoping some of the patrons here might have some experience and would be willing to help me with any quesitons I have from time to time. Thank you
Just saying, we didn't all have tact but remember, you are talking to people who are used to asking Who, What, Where, Why, When and How... Good Luck

| Posted over 1 year ago OK folks, our OP came out of the gate swinging an Attitude like a club, but he has apologized for his initial rudeness and, based upon his prior military service (as well as being a former MP) deserves a chance to redeem himself. Please refrain from any further criticisms of his initial attitude and let's give him an opportunity to get on track with the PL program. The ball, as they say, is now in his court! Thank You for your anticipated cooperation. Retleo (Moderator #8) "Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected."

| Posted over 1 year ago Is there someone here who would be able to assist me on my homework from time to time as I am enrolled in college. I apologize for my actions earlier. That is not like me. I have not gotten sleep in the past 2 days. I am currently taking classes on Strategies for success and a class of criminalistics. This is my first time in college. Thank you all and have a good day. |

| Posted over 1 year ago On both high school and college level - you choose the topic. Make a stab at the research so you have some questions to bring to the table when you ask for experts' opinions. That way, your efforts show sincerity and application. You can also query experts for worthwhile resources to pursue material for your topic. This site has a search option for key words in order to locate an expert or another student with similar research goals. Then you can post a topic with specific research-oriented questions. |

| Posted over 1 year ago I'll give you credit for being persistent. I'm sure the previous posts have done more than enough to address any issues that may be stumbling blocks for your success. I'll also defer to Retleo and give you the benefit of the doubt. I would also suggest that you heed the advice given by Redlight. At one time she was a newbie here and has come very far as a member of the PL family. All things said, congratulations on your career decision, thank you for your service, and good luck in your pursuits. If I can be of any assistance I'd be happy to help. Well, you're still a Rookie, but now we have a Rookie Rookie. (bwahahahahaha) Skylor, I too will give you the benefit of the doubt and assist in any way I can. Thank you for your service and best wishes in your career. Keep in mind, we will assist you in any way we can, but I don't think anyone here will do your homework for you. |

| Posted over 1 year ago I'm in the same boat you are in kinda sorta! I recently graduated and I have absolutely no clue where to go from here!! I moved away from my home town and everything that I ever known and live in a new city where I don't know many people and I don't have the first clue on what to do. When I started my college career 8 years ago I had my life planned out, I made friends with the local police agencies with a 3 county radius and now I'm in a town where I don't know a single officer. I've taken steps and met witht he coroner and I learned alot of first hand knowledge from him, but other than that well here I am. I currently live in Indiana and I have 2 degrees. My first is an Associates in Criminal Justice with my minor being in Juvenile Law, and my second is a Bachelors in Criminal Justice with my major being in Forensic Science. My previous work experience is I was in the National Guard, and I worked in a juvenile detention center for quite a few years. The rest of my job hiswtory has absolutely nothing to do with my career choice, it involves waitressing and management. If anybody has any ideas of what I can or should do next, I would greatly appreciate it. I do know that the local police stations are not hiring at this time. Thank you, Angela |
