Just Wondering, I havent seen many in a while, worked with a NYSP Bomb dog that was a Rottweiler and he seemed to be a great dog.

Back in the day,.......Stafford Twp PD, N.J. was exclusively all Rottweilers,...dual purpose.

You just don't see many Rotts in police work in the U.S any longer. Mainly because the breed has suffered from poor breeding. There are some other problems as well, but at any rate, they just aren't that popular. They tend to have stamina problems. when picking a dog to work, it's not the breeding that is important but rather the specific behaviors needed and sound nerve required in a Police Service Dog (PSD).
