The two Fort Hood police officers who were first on scene of the 2009 shooting were recently let go from their jobs. Officer Mark Tood fired the shots that paralyzed Major Nadal Hasan, and Officer Kimberly Munley was shot three times in the shootout.

They were hired year-to-year, and their contracts were not renewed, due to military budget cuts.

Ya know, some times you should just make an acception to the yearly contracts!! That is just wrong. Hope things work out for both of them!!!!

Very sad to see brothers and sisters lose jobs, especially heros.

Inbelievable.  If our military cannot contract these heroes commensurately though other means, it should see to their hire to even better jobs.

Aim at the high mark and you will hit it. No, not the first time, not the second time and maybe not the third. But keep on aiming and keep on shooting for only practice will make you perfect. Finally you'll hit the bull's-eye of success.

Our country no longer makes sense.  We idolize goofy politicians and ignore real heroes.

This is just very sad.  It tells so much about the current state of affairs that our Country is in.  I wish them both the best of luck.

Unbelievable.  Why does the federal government always say "job well done" by saying "you're fired"?  This BS that the contract was up is just that - BS.
