After reading through the news here on P.L. and in the newspapers around the country I am glad to live where I do. Yeah we got drugs and crime and gangs in surrounding areas but we do not have the mistreatment of children, homicides and sexual assualts that are going on big time in some of the areas around the country and yes in MT. also. I pray that I did not just jinx us as I do enjoy the laid back life style and my job. Can all these things happen here where I live yes, they can and have and I have investigated them but not in the numbers that my brothers and sisters in blue and brown have to deal with. My prayers are with you folks as you go through your shifts that you return home in the same manner as you left.

I just now read your post. I can take it two ways. Either you live in an area that is sparsley populated and you have nothing to do, or your department has such qualified personnel that work tirelessly and have eradicated much of the violent crime in your jurisdiction.  I'll go with door number two. Since I have known you here, that  can be the only conclusion. Job well done!

There, a comment.

Gunder is in an area where most of the residents are tough, self reliant individuals, the problems come from 'transients' and drifters, and I suspect there are not a whole lot of then, nothing to draw them to that area,  Gunder and crew probably keep a close eye on strangers, a job well done.

I'm going with the sparsley populated idea.I believe Guder and my second cousin are the only people living in Mt.There is darn near as many Yeti reported there as humans and they don't bother anybody.

Yeah we are sparse but have the big city problems lots of drugs coming through on Highways 2 and 191 but I catch the ones I can. LOL

As for the Yeti we have the big bad Paraire Yeti. He has been known to sneak up and attack an unwary fishing pole. (there is a story to this one). LOL

A couple of Border Patrol Agents were fishing on days off and one went to the pickup to back the trailer down to load the boat and the other picked up his partners fishing pole and some how it got broke. Several stories later it was decieded that the Paraire Yeti was responsible. So when you come to our neck of the woods....ok no woods HMMMM stones, rocks and weeds maybe watch out for this dastardly animal cause he will attack at the drop of a fishing pole. LOL

Cat_D I will be getting even you know that don't you. LOL

Thanks cederdale yeah transients are watched and checked out as are all strangers. It is kinda like the old westerns on TV when a stranger rides into town he is always watched. And Oh by the way I am not Festus. More like Chuck Norris but a little taller heavier and not as good looking and ok not as fast or able to do those flying kicks either. LOL

That is the nice thing about working in a small area.  We know who belongs and who does not.  it makes it easier to keep our residents safe.

Just jiving with my friendm Guder.I've been to Idaho and Mt. a few times each and do have kin in both locations. They are both beautifulm and peaceful beyond belief.Unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the fabulous hunting and fishing in the region.I am, however, sticking with my adopted Southland.Had my fill, of bitter cold and tons of snow after having lived in Nebraska,Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for decades.

Yep Cederdale just almost like Chuck...and yes ssu459 the hunting and fishing are good in my area. we have Walleye, Northern pike, Perch, and Catfish along with all the so called trash fish like suckers, shiners, gold eyes and carp. Not so good to eat but fun to catch and release. There are also trout in some of the smaller ponds that are stocked by the F&G. So yeah life is good here and sometimes I need to sit back and remember that.

We have a few trout ponds around here but I don't fish for them much. I rather eat walleye, northern pike and perch. They are yummy. BTW catfish is also very good to eat.
