I have tried to gain access to the Restricted Areas as I am an active LEO but everytime I try it asks me to sign in then just takes me to my home page!

Hm--this is definitely a NEW bug. It used to give you information about Restricted Access and a link to request it, now it just routes you inexplicably to login.

To summarize the scope and impact: this means that unverified LEOs can't request restricted access until this is fixed unless they already have the verification form and fax number.

In the meantime, if someone needs to request access they'll have to go relatively old school.

^ Download that, open it in Adobe Reader (or any PDF file viewer), fill it out, photocopy your credentials, fax it in (fax number is on the form), and wait. I've never seen it take more than a couple of days, but don't quote me on that.
