Posted almost 2 years ago I'm a reserve looking for a good used radio such as the Motorola HT1000. I'd like to get one with the Public Safety MIC (has the antenna on the mic) and needs to have the charger. I also would like the belt holster as well. Thanks. |

Posted almost 2 years ago bump uncledennis. Ebay usually has an abundance of radios for decent price. "People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. "

Posted almost 2 years ago Just curiuos........ Every department (in California anyways) that I am aware of that fields a reserve unit (including ours) issues the reserve officers department radios as standard equipment. Is this not the case where you are?

Posted almost 2 years ago Unfortunately it is different here. I had to get all of my own equipment. Some places do offer some equipment, and my department does have some radios. The issue I keep running into is when we have more than 3 reserves on in a day, I either don't get a radio or I get one with a dead battery. I just figure I'll try to find a good used radio and buy a new battery for that radio if it needs it.

Posted almost 2 years ago You can try ebay. If I were you I would get a new one from Motorola. It's your life line and I would want one I know that will work when it hits the fan. Just my opinion. Good luck in your search.
