Posted almost 2 years ago Ok, this guy has blown it big time. But there is a mystery that I can't figure out. Remember when you were sworn in as a law enforcement professional ? And you learned that lying was THE number one sin you could commit ? How is it that a CONGRESSMAN can lie for days and days and days and then all of a sudden be contrite, seeking forgiveness of American citizens as if it would all go away ? I mean what he did with the imaging of his privates is raw enough. But to then lie about it AND THEN slough it off like he changed his mind? My gosh, lying is nearly enough to get the firing squad in law enforcement. But a Congressman? Uncategorically lying in front of billions of people and thinking it is now smooth and clean? I dunno. Am I all wet here?

| Posted almost 2 years ago Hopefully not, Nick. She should dump him flat. She's got no worries about her position. She's a successful beltway operative in her own right. Bessie Braddock: “Sir, you are drunk.” Churchill: “Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober.” |

| Posted almost 2 years ago I mean the guy is like a poster child for what someone looks like before they have a stroke. Veins poppin' out. Eyes buggerin'. If he came to my door and said "Trick or Treat", shoot, I might actually be a-skeered. |

| Posted almost 2 years ago He's a politician, Sarge. Lying is practically a prerequisite for the position. |

| Posted almost 2 years ago I agree Sarge...this POS should either resign or be removed from his office. The problem is, is that his own constituents have already forgiven him and have said that what he did is "NO BIG DEAL!" Without turning this into a political rant, I can only say that this is the problem with society today. Things like this just don't have any effect on people for the most part. Not only did this guy lie to the American people and the people that he vowed to work for, he lied to his wife in front of the entire nation...he broke the most sacred vow. That may not be important to many people nowadays, but it sure is important to me. In my mind,, he CAN NOT be trusted!!! The funny thing is...he's not even a very good liar. Go back and look at all of his interviews since this story broke and you can tell as soon as he starts talkiing that he's lieing through his teeth. PL Mentoring Team Member Compliance is not an option; it's a matter of time! |

| Posted almost 2 years ago No mystery here, the guy is a "WEINER"............I feel sorry for his pregnant wife who has to deal with this embarassment of a husband. As for politicians lying, I think that the last politician who was honest went by the name of ABE LINCOLN.

"WEINER" Given the circumstances of this scandal, could this guy have a more appropriate or inappropriate (depending upon how one looks at this matter) name? SERIOUSLY....... |

| Posted almost 2 years ago to bad that MR.WEINER-WAGGER was not making a statement to the FBI during the investigation. It's not illegal to lie to the people who put you in office, but it is against the law to lie to a Federal Agent conducting an investigation. Most Officials go to prison for lieing than they do for the crime they committed in the first place. This guy is a P.O.S. and needs to go away. What a joke our congress is. |

| Posted almost 2 years ago Like The Sarge says, lying is only important if it was a cop doing the lying. We discredit him and toss him or her out in disgrace. Politicians have no problem lying to us and then expect to get re-elected!

| Posted almost 2 years ago NPR did a story today on the phenomenon of politicians hanging on after they've been disgraced. Transcript is available online now, audio will be in a couple of hours: http://tinyurl.com/congress-zombies It's an interesting read. They break them down into three categories: Those who survived to live again. Those wounded but stick around. Those who hung on but were eventually buried.

| Posted almost 2 years ago Because when congressmen lie, it's like a requirement of the job and everyone expects it. But as a LEO, we are held to a higher standard because we are not allowed to lie and everyone thinks we always have to tell the truth...even during vice stings. |
