Orlando PD and University of Central Florida will be having another FREE training day Saturday, July 16 starting at 1300 hrs. It will be somewhere on the University of Central Florida campus and will HOPEFULLY involve building with A/C. The very early and tentative schedule is:

1300-2300: Scenario Training

1600-2000: Ed Reyes will be putting on a small decoy class.

All day a new vendor from the UK will be on hand. They will have at least 5 dogs with them for evaluation, testing, demonstration and all will be for sale at an introductory cost quite a bit less than the average price of equal quality dogs for sale in the U.S.. This vendor, http://www.specialistk9.com/  is looking to set up shop in the United States for the long term. The lower prices are not just for the dogs they are bringing with them. They will keep the introductory prices where they are for quite a few months, and possibly up to a year.

If anyone is looking to source a new patrol dog in the next month or so, consider this new company. PM me for further details.

Updated time and venue. OPD has a monsterous indoor, air conditioned gun range. Some of the training will take place there due to the heat. A link with info and directions is below.

12 days before the event.  Should be a good time.

Had a good day at the event today. Turn out was okay for a very hot Saturday. Being indoors made it nice. Our green dogs did great for being in country for only a few days. The Springer Spaniels were a big hit and the demo by our 28 year RAF veteran explosives dog trainer was met with numerous questions regarding that style of training in the UK.

Does specialistk9 sell pets to civilians also or only to Police Depts? I am going to their site now. I wish I was there. If I get into the Police Dept here, I would love to get in to the K9 Division.

Once our breeding program is transferred from Europe to here there will no doubt be pet quality dogs available as not every pup is a police dog. Those dogs that aren't police, sport or personal protection capable will be placed in good pet homes likely at little, or no cost.
