Posted about 1 year ago NOt sure there will ever be anyhting that's hair resistant...haha....However after being issued several different brands of uniforms they all wear out after a year or so....The best I've found for wear and comfort is the 5.11 brand. They have knee and crouch area padding..and seem to not fade as fast as other brands...They along with most brands come in cotton or the summer time light weight material called rip-stop....

Posted about 1 year ago check out bratwear.com.. they have a jumpsuit that is really k-9 proof. it is a bit expensive, but it very durable. it is very professional looking and has as many or not as many pockets that you wish to have put in. they are a very good company. the suits come in either one piece or 2 piece. they also come in various colors. its worth every penny you pay.. the winter ones are very warm.. they come with long sleeves, but have zip off sleeves. the L/E rep is very nice and helps out a lot. he can send sample uniforms to you for your department to see

Posted about 1 year ago Thank you. Class A uniforms are really showing that there is a dog in the car. Every piece of fur, drool and dander sticks to them like glue. Used to wear 5.11 pants and Blauer shirts. Was wondering if anything new had come out. Will try bratwear.

Posted about 1 year ago There's not to much that is going to be full dog proof. Especially when they are throwing drool, and the whirlwind of hair blowing around in the car. Bratwear does really well with repelling stuff, but the other thing I do is keep a lint roller in my car with me. If i have to go to an event or otherwise, it's a quick way of cleaning up as best you can with a dog.

Posted about 1 year ago I went to the 5.11 Tactical Uniforms after trying BDU's and Blauer. I prefer the 5.11 Tactical Boots also.

Posted about 1 year ago We wear the 5.11 Class B uniforms with sewn-on everything. No pin on badges or other "ornaments." Nylon (Bianchi Accumold) duty gear. Ours was the first PD to actually implement this stuff for duty use and it's held up great. The map pocket on the front of the shirt comes in real handy as do all the hidden pockets. It's quality stuff. If someone comes up with dog-fuzz resistant material, let me know--I'll help you write the patent and we can BOTH retire early...

Posted about 1 year ago We have also gone to the 5.11 tactical gear...the vented rear in the shirt is nice...the material wears well...the pants are fading a little faster than I like but probably due to the dark brown color. We have also embroidered the badge, name, etc.

Posted about 1 year ago We use the Blauer Streetgear with sewed on emblems and names. The pants tend to fade a little, but we wear dark brown so that probably has a little to do with it. Overall we have been satisfied with them. We wore Class A uniforms as K9 Handlers for years, so we're not gonna complain to loud about what we wear now......

Posted about 1 year ago I've been using the 5.11 TDU's for over a year now. The hair doesn't stick and with the teflon coating, my dogs muddy prints wipe off pretty easily. It also is holding up better than the other BDU styles that I've worn in the past. Climbing a mountain is tough, but it beats growing up...

Posted about 1 year ago We use 2 standard ones. Embroidered Polos and rip-stop poly/blend BDU trousers with Matterhorn 10' boots for summer...and for the winter the same with the BDU matching long sleeve top. One problem is the frequent washing of the bottom makes the tops always seem to be darker after a season..go figure. Our colors are Navy Blue so it shows everything too. I also run the hounds so it was a no mercy situation...I got to where I often wore a BDU coverall on those days...really worth the investment.

Posted about 1 year ago We wear 511 nylon pants with the 511 tactical polos during the summer which seem to wipe clean fairly easy. During the winter its 511 bdu's with all nylon duty gear. We wear brown with silver tan, yeah barny fife colors. But the uniforms seem to last about a year a half or so with constant wear.

Posted about 1 year ago I too must agree with all of the 5.11 comments. I use those as well and they are great. As a matter of fact, i was wearing 5.11 pants during my motorcycle crash. Although i broke my neck, 6 ribs, crushed my spleen, and severely bruised my kidney, my pants had a small scuff mark in the knee. Never even tore the fabric. After they were washed, I can't tell which one of my four pair i was wearing that day.

| Posted about 1 year ago Invest in a pair of 10' Matterhorn boots. They are a little expensive but well worth it. You feet stay dry and cool. They last a long time also, I have had this pair for 3 years now and they are still in good shape. We wear Blauer BDU's with sewed on emblems and name tags. I find they fade a little after a few months of washing but over all I like them. Be without fear in the face of

Posted about 1 year ago Our unit went to a tee shirt, rip stop BDU and an outer vest carrier. We can remove the vest when done with searches, tracks or doing paperwork at the station. The tee shirt with logos and the BDU costs about $35 a set, so if it damaged your not writing off an expensive set of uniforms.

| Posted about 1 year ago I had put my guys in Blauer StreetGear. They were a little heavy for Florida, but they still were able to breath. They show off almost like a class A uniform and wear well. Turn them inside out when washing to avoid fade. They stand up well to hair and slobber (from the officer too). "Let us speak courteously, deal fairly, and keep ourselves armed and ready." | Posted about 1 year ago Canine Road Dogs wear the class A. They are a hair magnet. Special Ops handler's wear OD utilities. During training we all wear utilities. We (the trainers) wear either utilities or 511's with a polo type shirt. Beyond fatigue lies compensatory hypertrophy |

Posted about 1 year ago I WEAR THE 5.11 TDU TACTICALS. THEY AREN'T COMPLETELY HAIR RESISTANT BUT THE HAIR DOESN'T STICK TO YOU AS BAD. THEY HAVE KNEE PADS AND THEY DO LAST LONGER THAN THE OTHER BRANDS. THEY DON'T FADE AS BAD AS THE ORIGINAL BDU'S

Posted about 1 year ago I've got the Pro Tuff brand pants and shirts. They're really thick and durable. The only down fall is that since they are thick I have to get them pressed at the cleaners but they look sharp. I might try the 5.11's some day or look into the Bratwear's too...

Posted about 1 year ago 511 now has a Nylon fabric that is light weight and very comfortable. It doenst hold a press too well but with shirt stays it is sharp. Thats it in my pic.

Posted 2 months ago After reading all the comments, I think it would be safe to say 5.11's are the way to go. Also, wanted to ask SAWilson, you have a very interesting looking dog. Is the a dobi or dobi/rott mix? Nice looking dog hows his work?

Posted about 1 month ago Bratwear uniforms are the best one I have seen yet. I wear the jumpsuit and it is the most comfortable uniform I have ever worn. The suits are snag proof and water resistant. Any dirt, dander or dog hair wipes off. The company can completely customize the suit. My suit has keepers attached and I even have a tazer pocket on my left leg. The suits are about $350 each but are worth it. The winter suit is fleece lined. Its very nice but a little too hot for me in Texas.
