My Thoughts - I do believe all the natural disasters we are having, is part of a 3,000 year cycle. This year and next will be like a coaster ride. And we will experience a polar magnetic shift next year!

What 2012 predictions are you referring to? The end of the world?

Normally, I do not believe in the supernatural, especially prohets and predictions.  They have been spouting Doomsday throughout recorded history.   However, 2012 is different.  There seems to be a substantial amount of circumstantial evidence pointing to the possibility of the Nostradamus/Mayan predictions of some kind of doom in 2012.  I suspect they(Nostradamus, Mayans, Anasazi, etc) may be cognizant of or aware of an unknown cycle we are not aware of, something they knew in ancient times, a phase or pulse or wave of energy.  Astronomers theorize of a 'Galactic Super Wave' from the center of the galaxy, which pulses outward like a blast pressure wave, every few thousand years in a cycle.  It is theorized it travels at/near the speed of light It could be what the ancents refered to as the 'Blue Star', enough  energy to affect the earth's magnetic poles.  There is no way anyone from the past could predict an asteroid, meteor or comet strike, but, If an energy wave from some kind of pulse hits the earth every few thousand years without an extinction level event, it could have become mythology throughout the last 70,000 years or so of pre-recorded history.

There are just far too many references, separated by time and regions, in the past pointing to a 'catastrophy' of some kind aroun 2012, too many to be coincidence - and I don't believe in coincidence too much - too much to be ignored.

I noticed in this poll that most are prone to 'NO', that the flurry of natural and other disasters (and the precipitated mayhem that follows)  are not an indicator of the 2012 predictions.  I can't say for 100 percent yes, but I agree with Ed below that the current disasters are part of a cycle we dont yet aknowledge or understand.  There could also be a 'Domino" effect, one disaster leading to another, such as earthquakes or meteor strike triggering Yellowstone super volcanoe, causing a global winter for several years, etc, etc.

It does demand on our part a serious consideration and preparation.  When on patrol, I used to carry a trunkload of gear, and was constantly asked why carry so much stuff.  Simply put, I would rather have it (extra armor, helmet, ammo, etc) and not need it, than to need it and not have it.  On Patrol, I was prepared for the worst.  Prof Michio Kaku spoke on the Science and Discovery Channels about 2012 doomsday predictions, and suggested it would be wise to prepare for the worst, such as Pole Shift, satelite disruption, and technology failure (such as radios, cell phones and computers crashing),  Think about the latter - we had that happen one night in downtown  Denver, and had to team up 3 in a car, then had to dispatch  physically back and forth from the station on each call - and only the radios and hard line phones were down at the time.  But it was a pain in the ass...

On the Discovery/Science Channel documentary, Prof Kaku concluded that if we prepare for it and then nothing happens in 2012, so what, we're still better off for it.  I agree.

I don't believe in all of these 2012 predctions or anything like that. I do believe though that all of these disasters, (man-made and natural) are all part of a continuous cycle of what we call "Life as we know it!" It's been this way throughout history. Do we as humans play a pivital role in what happens? I think we do! BUT, until we decide to change our ways and start respecting the natural order of things, the perverbial $h!t will continue to hit the fan!

Just my thoughts! Stay safe!!!

Don't max out your credit in 2012 unless you want to be bankrupt in 2013.  All the great predictions are not really predictions coming true.  They are vague statements that believers fit into whatever circumstances occur.  In 2013 all the doomsdayers will come out and say that they simply misinterpreted the writings and it really ment whatever it was that happens in 2012.

I believe that 2012 will be like, but even less significent, that the 2000 computer crisis, remember all the hype about the computers crashing and the like when jan 1,2000 rolled around, as far as i can remember, the most significent effect was a buch of casino computers crashed for a few hours, and for the rest of the world, it was computing as normal.  A 'galactic alignment' of sorts will occur on dec 21,2012, but since this happens every winter solstice and precession makes a very minor channge to it each year nothing particularly special about the 2012 alignment.

As a man of faith (in Christ Jesus) I don't concern myself with all the hype of 2012 debates and end of the world prophecies. It's like trying to figure out which date I'm going to die on. It's going to happen regardless and I have no control over it. So I just live my life like there is no tomorrow. My Lord comes back like a thief in the night, so I stay ready to keep from gettin' ready.

Here in Texas we have had a long worse drought since 1929.  Records show at that time the tempetures were in the 105-110 range for over 60 days, so there goes Global warming (Mr x vice president) , cause there was no car emmisions back then!   Everyone forgets that we get closer to the SUN every year.  Dooms day predictions have happened all through History and 2012 too will pass!  I always have lived in my 60 years like there is No tommorrow, for as far as we know, anyone can slip and go byebye in the shower ,why worry!  It only makes you older than you should be from the stress, live life at the fullest and enjoy life while you can!

It is not possible for anyone to know when the world will end.  Only the Father knows.  that's good enough for me.
