Posted about 2 years ago As you may or may not have noticed, PoliceLink has made a new, concentrated effort to update our community with the latest law enforcement news hitting the media. Instead of updating our news channel once in the morning, we have a dedicated team scouring the new to provide you with up-to-date information all day long. What are your thoughts about the change? | Posted about 2 years ago I do like the updated news and new articles!! As long as we can keep getting to some of the older stories, I think we'll be good! Some of the "Advertisements" can go, though (I know, wishful thinking). In GOD We Trust (All others get searched, then checked through NCIC) MODERATOR #10

And yes, you can absolutely still access the older stories we've posted, though we do cycle what appears on the homepage througout the day. Simply click on News --> Browse News and you can filter by most recent, recently popular, etc. As for advertising...wishful thinking indeed Kendra

| Posted about 2 years ago Not a research issue. I think most LEO's here will agree more stories in PL News is a good thing - depending on content. Reader's comments reflect a general discontent. Even the rank novice taking the most cursory view of PL Features, among them News, can quickly confirm the wisdom of bringing seasoned LEO perspectives to The Team, Kendra. I expect your work here as a sounding board will profit from that. |

| Posted about 2 years ago One thing I have noticed about some of the news stories here on PL is misleading or unclear headlines. Often times I have clicked on a story because of the headline and then realized that the headline is completely incorrect after I read the article. I don't know if this is a PL issue or if the headlines are assigned from another source and simply not screened. "I have a strict gun control policy. | Posted about 2 years ago I am sick of reading all the LEO gone bad stories and rarely any of the good things. I know the editors here have nothing to do with what is in "print." Maybe finding more than one positve police story for the hundreds of negative would put Ranger719 and BSL in a better mood. hehe

| Posted about 2 years ago GREAT AWESOME FANTASTIC job Kendra and to all the PL staff. I agree with the misleading titles - but sometimes we have to differentiate between the news feeds and the user submitted news articles. Also duplicate postings - I know I've posted the same article and then it shows up in the news feeds (sorry). And as far as the negatives - I firmly believe that is the media's fault - instead of saying " Cops subdue unruly child" a lot of times they should say "unruly child disrupts entire school - police called" it's all in the way it's presented. And they don't always shed LE in a positive light. All for the sake of selling headlines and papers, I suppose. When it comes to slant and sensationalism, PL News from Front Page 'on back' tells the whole story. No wonder LEOs here are pissed off. I'm not tacking a smiley face onto ANYONE'S res.
