Posted about 2 years ago I learned a valuable lesson today that I will probably forget by tomorrow. DO NOT make a sarcastic comment, no matter how funny, that is directed at your Defensive Tactics instructor. They have the power to make you very uncomfortable. She looked at me and said "Class, I would like to introduce you to my demonstration partner for the day" as she pointed at me. She might have said jokingly, "it looks like I have a new b**tch to you as a toy this morning" though, it's hard to tell since they both sound the same. She then demonstrates a rear arm bar control move that planted me face first into the mat with a little more "authority" than we had been practicing with. And if that weren't bad enough, I should have attempted to remember that lesson a few hours later before I once again decided to make a sarcastic comment. That one got a rubber knife thrown at me from half way across the room. All in all it was a good day. LOL

Posted about 2 years ago Sounds like a valuable lesson learned, even if it took a few times. Never judge a book by its cover comes to mind as well. I personally loved the Defensive Tactics course, especially since the last time I had it the now Sheriff was my training partner. Enjoy...

Posted about 2 years ago Our primary trainer for DT was a great lady. I knew I could say it because she had a great sense of humor. Now if the multi colors on my knee would go away I'd be happy. Nice shades of blue and purple. LOLOL

Posted over 1 year ago I am a DT instructor and when I have a participant in class that wants to make sarcastic remarks I too use them for my demonstration partner. It usally only takes one day (its a 2 day class) for them to get the picture and keep quiet. LOL Never regret anything that made you smile.
