| Posted about 2 years ago TSA is not capable of stopping an attack. They have failed every test given to them by their own internal affairs. It is all show and very expensive. Technology will not save us from our enemies, if we cannot identify who they are. Proactive investigations are the only way that we will get ahead of these enemies. The middle east is imploding right know, once things settle down, we had better have legs on the ground investigating terrorist cells. The lone wolf operation that the CIA botched in Pakistan is a classic example of how bad we are at this. Good Law Enforcement doesn't operate in a bubble with no backup. |

| Posted about 2 years ago What needs to be done with the TSA is to hire some Isareli consultants (who specialize in terrorist detections) and implement their suggestions, they are probably the worlds best at detecting terrorists. |

| Posted about 2 years ago TSA is a joke and so are 90% of their employees. I really feel badly for the 10% that are good guys and are trying to do what is right. We need REAL security and that can only be accomplished through profiling and real LE training. That along with real security in the baggage handling area for explosives. TLeeworth is correct, let them consult with the Israelis about how to do this. I have no love of the Israel Government but they do know how to do security. |

| Posted about 2 years ago I used to work with TSA when the department originated. TSA had many prior LEO's and prior Military personnel. We all took our jobs seriously and wanted to do the best job we could. I worked at JFK for 6 weeks as part of my training; this was right after the 9/11 attacks. I worked with some of NYPD"s finest back then. Back then it was not a joke to work for TSA. Today, I fear things are a little bit different.... very sad. But, it is better than not having anything! | Posted about 2 years ago We need airports that take policework seriously to begin with, not treat us as though we are the "bad people" who cause complaints from the good little passengers... Too often, airport leaders don't want officers to enforce rules because it hurts the feelings of employees and passengers, and might "scare away business." So instead, officers feel pressured to let things slide, and after awhile, the rules are meaningless and the airport is unprotected. I'm sick of being treated like an object, and our jobs treated like a joke where everything is reduced to a dollar sign. The law should not be brushed aside because it causes inconvenience. |

I think that the public in general need to wake up and realize that good policing and security is needed at our airports. I haven't ever worked at an airport that had a problem with the police intervening with the passengers, where passengers were complaining - unless they had something to hide.. and I have worked at JFK, SFO, and RDU (not too many). With that being said, I do realize that that was many moons ago when I worked in any airport. Police are an essential part of Airport Security and need to be treated with respect by everyone.

| Posted about 2 years ago There is a vast differance between Airport Police and the TSA. The TSA are not better than nothing. They are a joke and nothing but a 'feel good' bandaid that doesn't work at all. |

| Posted about 2 years ago I think the civilans who cry about getting their "junk" touched should stop crying and realize that just a few ahort years ago terrorist boarded commercial airliners in the northeast part of our country and took them over which caused a great loss of life. We lost a larger amount of innocent civilans in this disaster than we did in the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. |

| Posted about 2 years ago Robo , you hit it out of the park about the TSA better then nothing . They could not find their A$$'s with both hands and a flashlight. Just like State Jobs , four Supervisors to every worker without a clue. "They needed Police Style Uniforms and Police looking Badges to get RESPECT FROM THE PUBLIC" those were their words at the time. Now they are pushing for Police Powers. Anytime we have a problem , the Government does not look inward , they "THROW MONEY AT IT AND EXPAND TO NEW UNTRAINED , UNSEASONED, HIGHLY EDUCATED , stand ins. Since when is "COMMON SENSE" TAUGHT IN SCHOOL? I don't care if you have a Masters Degree , as long as you continue to pound the square peg into the round hole , you are useless. Glory earned on the field of battle , can never be taken away , you take it with you to the grave. Quote by General George Armstrong Custer |

| Posted about 2 years ago I personally dont think they are. I have run into a buch that are cocky, rude, and very badge heavy. Time and time again tests against the TSA show that investigators get weapons and other items through the check points. I believe in airport security, but some of the people TSA hires makes me scratch my head.
Like I was talking about the cockyness, its just amazes me how I have seen some of these people talk down to individuals, boss them around, and threaten to kick them off their flight. I understand they have a job to do, but there is no curtiousy or professionalism with them. Not to mention having the authority to go through your bag and potentially steal you items. Being a police officer is like having a front row seat to the greatest show on earth. |

You guys aren't the only ones that this is happenning to, its up here in Canada as well. Airport personel complaining higher up and then we come and hear this and that from them. Little do they know what really goes on out there, and if we say anything they just want to ignore it. I've gotten to the point where they can say whatever they want, if I have to deal with someone and its in a public area I'm going to do it; sorry that me putting handcuffs on someone that deserves it scares them and ruins thier "image" as they say. |

| Posted almost 2 years ago Its not the problem of going through security at the airports. Its the quality of the people they hire. Look, not to long back they fired a lot of TSA Employee's for having questionalble backgrounds. Some government agencies follow the practice of hiring people and then doing their backgrounds. Its not like a state or local law enforcement agency where you go through the hiring process to include a background and a psych eval. Do the TSA even do a psych eval? |

| Posted almost 2 years ago I doubt it.. dont think they do if i look at some off the members working at Schiphol Airport.. |
We don't have enough Airport Security, but we have given TSA too much leeway. TSA is out of control!!
