Posted over 2 years ago What do you all use for motivation? I can stay motivated for a while but it slows down. Tips? Ideas? Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.- C.S. Lewis |

| Posted over 2 years ago You have to do something fun. If you always do the same thing, first of all, you're not going to really improve over all. Just on those things you work out all the time. Second, you're going to burn out, get bored, and be more likely to skip, then skip another, skip two, so on and so on until you just quit altogether. You have to switch it up all the time, and do something that you get excited about. Also, make your workout part of a routine. Not making the workout routine. What I mean is (what I do) go to the gym before work on your work days, and as soon as you wake up on your off days. Turning everyday activities into a mini work out helps also (taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking further away from work). You also want to avoid Injury which is another common reason that people skip, and/or quit working out. Music is good, but mix it up. And if you're still planning an LE Career, just look at all the LODD Notices we get. That's a big motivator for me. |

Lol that's usually my motivation. Seriously though, I know i'm looking to getting into a career, and my physical statue is one thing I know can be a big + or a big -. It could save my life one day (both in terms of beign an officer, and not getting heart disease.) It also effects how you present yourself to other people, or when in public situations. There's also nothing better then waking up the next day and you can barely walk from your leg workout yesterday lol I've worked in the fitness industry for 5 years now, I enjoy it. Helping people get into the shape they want to be is something they want to be. Also knowing I can squat more then most of the idiots at my university that don't know what a real squat is lol. (sorry that's a whole different rant for another time.)
"Law enforcement officers are never 'off duty.' They are dedicated public servants who are sworn to protect public safety at any time and place that the peace is threatened. They need all the help that they can get."
"My heroes are those who risk their lives every day to protect our world and make it a better place - police, firefighters and members of our armed forces."

You know me. Something fun that requries me to active? I am a computer nerd! haha I am sure I can come up with something. I have been trying to work in some stuff into my normal day. I try to park far away from stores, take the stairs, sprint to the mailbox, etc.. Thanks. Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn.- C.S. Lewis |
