IMPORTANT TO NOTE

Posted over 2 years ago I thought it important to mention, TSA EDCH's are NOT law enforcement officers. That is, we are not armed and do not have powers of arrest (at this time). Is this something that will change in the future? I honestly do not know. It is something that has been discussed at all levels, however I do not expect it to happen any time soon if at all. We do however have authority under civil law (Transportation Security Act) as Inspectors and Investigators over regulated entities (49 CFR) in the transportation industry as well as pipelines. This position is not just a canine handler, we are also Transportation Security Inspectors. |

| Posted over 2 years ago I see. So you are with TSA and not actually a actively serving "federal agent". Thanks for the heads up. |

Thank you for pointing that out. When I created my profile over two years ago, I did not see another option closely related to my exact position. I am a Federal Inspector activley serving and have many a credentials to prove my experience in both the military and federal sectors that complement my knowledge and skill base in law enforcement. I did however change my profile to "Non Sworn Law Enforcement" to eliminte any confusion. Also note, TrafficCop28, EDCH's must not be confused with TSA Security Screeners (Officers) for we are on completely different ends of the spectrum. Be safe and have a great day. |

Follow on note: The reason why I mentioned this important note is because one of the questions I receive often from people about this position is if it is a LEO position. So in anticipation for seeing that question come up again I thought it best to get it out there now. |
