Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is one of the several CIVILIAN DoD Agencies. The Department of Defense has many subodinate agencies with DOD Police to include (but not limited to)

DLA - Defense Logistics Agency

NSA - National Security Agency

NGA - National GeoSpatial-Intelligence Agency

DCIS - Defense Criminal Investigative Service

DIA - Defense Intelligence Agency

PFPA - Pentagon Force Protection Agency (They dont want to claim the title DOD Police, but they are)

and all the Civilian Police of the Military Branches. The fact is... If your agency (Military or Civilian) is part of the Defense Department, you are DOD Police. We just all have different titles from our different agencies.

CONGRATS!!!

The Navy's acronyms for their stuff is too long. Army got DACP: Dept of the Army Civilian Police. Air Force - AFCP: Air Force Civilian Police. Marine Corps - MCCP: Marine Corps Civilian Police. But the Navy.... CNRSW Police. (Command Navy Region South West). And that's just your station. When I was with them in NYC... it was NSNY Police (Naval Station NY Police) Pretty short. But it seems like the Navy names their Police after their many duty stations instead of giving them 1 title for all... like... I dont know.... NCP - Navy Civilian Police? It sounds good. Cant wait to see how long the acronym would be for a police officer with NORTHERN NAVAL FACILITIES & ENGINEERING COMMAND CARETAKER SITE OFFICE NEW YORK..... LOL

Don't really know about CNRSW... The Navy has several regions and several academies which I hope all would teach the same corriculum. If anyone here has gone through the South West regional Academy... please fill our DOD Police brother in on what he can expect in the academy.

What base are you going to? Iv been did police for a year now at naval base San Diego. The academy isn't to tough, but that's if ur in decent shape going in. Your going to do a lot of pushups and a lot of running just like any Other academy. The instructors are all retired cops or retired military police and they are all good guys for the most part. I can answer any questions you have.
