The Hurt Locker was the best hollywood depiction of the Iraq War so far, but the docu movie Brothers at War was hands down the best depiction period...and like Hurt Locker, didnt have all the political BS that is so random with civilian America and the hollywood crowd. Rademacher follows his Ranger brothers to Iraq who are members of an 82nd Airborne LRS unit, an Army National Guard scout sniper platoon, and a Marine MiTT team imbedded with Iraqi Army. Outstanding documentary...my wife and I sat down and watched it yesterday and she got a little understanding of where me and my guys have been and why we are the way we are. Great flick, will be getting it on DVD.

Have seen Hurt Locker several times, Brothers at War only once (so far).  Both have a grit and a realism that is both moving and disturbing at the same time.  Well worth watching and a tribute to what our brave young Service members do for us on a daily basis!

I haven't had the Opportunity to see either, but I've heard good things. I'll make it a point to see them both soon.

Interesting thing about it was that the 82nd LRS guys were at the same FOB in the same city I was at in my 2nd tour so it was great to be able to show the wife EXACTLY where I was in parts of Arab Iraq and in Kurdistan.
