My wife is looking for a hobby or at home job to do while I work. I tend to work 10-12 hours a day, though I've been cutting it back. We have 4 kids but she wants something to do while they are playing and taking naps. Any suggestions?

Scrapbooking can be so much fun, it can be a bit expensive though. Four children will make for some great scrapbooking.

Thanks for the reply WIckwire. I'm open to any other suggestions also if anyone else has anymore ideas. I'd enjoy being able to bring her a few ideas to choose from.

Does she like doing craft work, rogancol?

There are all sorts of crafts like knitting or quilting or beadwork, depending on what she likes to do.

She can make things as gifts or to sell. If there is a local hospital or nursing home, they usually welcome knit caps for babies and chemo patients, lap robes for the elderly. She can find free patterns on line, by doing a bit of Google search, and most book stores sell good "how-to" books, if she doesn't know the basic skills. A lot of yarn shops offer classes in knitting, bead shops often offer beading classes, etc.

How about Ebay! When I use to stay home with our kids I had a tendency to de-clutter on a daily basis. When my husband got sick of hauling it to the Goodwill, I decided to start lisiting it on Ebay. I actually made quite a bit of money doing it.

Shadowshopping? You do things like go to restaurants, stores, have an oil change done and report on how the service is. You can get information at shadowshopper.com.

I haven't paid for an oil change in years. Mystery shopping is alot of fun. There are two reputable companies that offer call center work from home agents, as opposed to a brick and mortar call center. They are LiveOps and West at Home Agents. They take orders from infomercials, as well as many other types. LiveOps takes orders for Pizza Hut and Papa Johns! All you need is a computer and a dedicated phone line. There are stay at home moms making $3000 a month!
