Posted over 2 years ago I was prettty much Forced to Resign or they, the Sheriff's Office said they had to Fire me...I was Off-Duty and as a Firefighter. I, and the rest of the dept. was hosting our annual Firemens Dance. After the dance I got involved in a "Domestic Violence" incident, that involved myself subdueing an intoxicated male subject, before Uniformed Officers got to the scene, after he had assaulted two(2) females. **Up-date** My name is Fabian Ysker, the Corrections Officer that was made to Resign or be Fired, and Terminated as a Police Officer/ Reserve. I do hold the title Firefighter-10yrs. A little more to what had happened that night...I, as being off-duty, and unscheduled to work from the Jail,on a Saturday night, enjoying the night with the Community, fellow Firefighters and my Wife. Wrapping things up from the dance, my wife & I saw an old friend (I'll call "N") we haven't seen in a while. As we were all talking, our female friend that we were talking to, her friend (I'll call "T" receieved a phone call. When T was done with the call, she said, she had some bad news. That was her daughter,T's, she was just talking to, and that N's husband said several "sexual remarks and made"sexual advances" at her, before leaving N's house. T's daughter was babsitting N's 4yo. This of course pissed off "N", and she was ready to drive straight home, which is in another town. I was the only one able to grab her and control her, before she got too far. Between my wife, T & I we kept her under control. We all then went to T's home, same town as I live in, and check on T's daughter to see how she is doing. "N" wanted to call the cops to have him thrown out, or at least gone by the time she got home, because she didn't want nothing to do with anymore. I called down to dispatch for her since I knew who was on duty, and gave a quick run down. While I was on the phone with dispatch "N" wanted to talk. "N" hung up the phone and were heading to my place. Town I'll call "V" and that's where we all headed, all4 of us. I called back to dispatch, they informed me that the Deputies were all busy and as soon as they get freed up they would head over, and investigate. I then told dispatch the status of what was going on, and gave the name of Town and address, along with my duty call sign, when I'm on duty as an Reserve. I just had a feeling? My wife drives my truck, following "N" & "T" in N's truck to Town-V. My wife and I are block away, and we spot N's truck parked in the drive-way and her making a bee-line some where towards the rear, in between the house and garage. My wife parks my truck not quite a block away and we walk up the street to meet up with "T" who is in the drive-way who starts walking our way. As I walk onto the concrete portion of the drive-way, I'm met by 2, not so gentlemen, asking me. "Who the f**k are you, and what the f**k are you here?" Since I didn't answer them right away, 1 of the shorter men swung at me. I ducked, and shoved him hard enough, that it looked like I threw him, because he was so short. Then the other guy just kinda took a step back then ran his mouth off. I then went inside the privacy fence between the garage and house. As I walked in from the gate, I heard a male cursing up a storm at "N" &"T, (the only light there was, was the light from the garage.) then a "Slapping" sound, "N" Yelled out, "Don't you ever slap me again" then witnessed "T" get thrown to the ground. I started shouting, "Stop" "Calm Down" "You Need To Stop", repeatedly at the male subject, but just ignored me. Then as I as got closer to "T" to check on her, then the male subject acknowldged me. A prior State Corrections Officer, I had my own personal handcuffs that I kept in the truck. As I mentioned earlier, about feelings. I had a gut feeling when my wife and I left the truck and started walking towards the driveway. Don't work weekends at the Jail. I VOLUNTEER MY TIME in as a Police Officer/Reserve. Inncident Occured in Different Town. I had some drinks. I Never drove. I Witness a male assault 2 females, and it was on the Assaulter & Assaulted property.
So I am pleased to annouce NOVEMBER 02/2010, ALL Complaints Dismissed, and Still jobless. So there you have it my few PL friends and the skeptics Officer F.Ysker |

| Posted over 2 years ago This story is a convoluted mess! I had to re-read this a few times to make some sense out of it. And Im still not clear on some things. First off you say you were "Off duty and as a Firefighter" a Corrections Officer and a Reserve Police Officer? Well sounds like you had a pretty full plate there. I have never known Firefighters to have second jobs...usually because of the unique schedules they work and they take advantage of their time off. But who knows.. maybe its different where you live. I will also have to say Im lacking in knowledge what exactly a Reserve Officer can do while off duty. You say "I do hold the title Firefighter-10 yrs." But at the end of this saga.. you say "still jobless" So which is it? Are you still a firefighter or not? Then you go on to contradict yourself by saying "A prior State Corrections Officer, I had my own personal handcuffs that I kept in the truck. " Yet in the 3rd paragraph you say "I as being off-duty and unscheduled to work from the jail"..I dont know of any Reserve Officers or Firefighters that work in a Jail..so Im gonna assume you were a CURRENT Corrections Officer. And if you were acting on your "gut feelings" in your capacity as a "Corrections Officer" your gut should have kicked you in your head. You have absolutely NO Jurisdiction or Power to arrest anyone who is not an inmate inside of the jail. And why are you dragging your wife into a potentially volatile situation like this?! Youre a little short guy thats been drinking, armed with a pair of handcuffs trying to fight some cop hating giants in a poorly lit area. Guess your "gut feelings" were on vacation...wow. I dont like to play Monday Morning quarterback and I will admit, Im at a disadvantage to comment intelligently about your capacity as Reserve Officer- And what you can do as an "Off Duty Reserve Officer" But what I do know, is that you exercised poor judgement.
I think that your "resignation" was a service to yourself and the community.

Let me give you a tip: An ONLINE DISCUSSION goes pretty much the same way as an in person, on the phone, or telephone communication. And if your reports looked anything like this, I can understand why you are jobless. Maybe you should keep some Communication skills next to those personal handcuffs you keep in your truck... |

| Posted over 2 years ago From what I can manage to decipher from your story, this did not become a Domestic Violence matter until you all decided to leave the location of the Firemaen's Dance and head over to "N's" house to confront the husband at that location. You had already called to PD and alerted them to the situation. You note that "T" told you that "N's" husband had already left the house. "T" should have told her daughter to take the 4 year old to a neighbor's house until the Police Officers arrived on scene. You were way out of line in becoming part of a group (You, wife, T & N) going to "N's" house to confront her husband before the Police arrived. You are lucky that the three males on scene did not beat you senseless, or worse. You had been drinking, were outnumbered, out of your jurisdiction, and were with three women who could also have been seriously injured, or worse had the situation gotten further out of hand. Without knowing ALL of the facts (not just your version of the events) nobody here can make a determination as to whether your resignation/termination was justified or not. The fact that you were stripped of your Reserve Officer status after being removed from your Corrections Officer position does tend to lead to the conclusion that there are gaps in your version as posted here. If you came here looking for sympathy, then I think that you are in the wrong place. By the way, although you were "not trying to wriet a report", your narrative should definitely be better written and make more sense. For a Law Enforcement Officer that narrative is atrocious! | Posted over 2 years ago I for one am not going to belittle this guy for trying to hold so many public service jobs or where he lives and frankly you others should not as well. Retleo made the best post here. Your intentions may have actually been good but your actions, maybe clouded by your consumption of alcohol, were wrong and you used very poor judgement. So poor as it bring enough discredit to you that the Sheriff no longer wanted you employed under him. You had no right to do what you did. Your biggest mistake was to take ANY action other than call the Police and leave it with them, period. Going over there was stupid and only lead to inflaming this whole situation. Get rid of your handcuffs, you have no reason to be carrying them. |

Hello Chad, When I was Working "Full Time" as a paid Corrections Officer, my uniforms were issued to me, and I had to turn them All in, when I was released from the Sheriffs Office.
